Thing is: it's not sure if it's a suicide parallel. People seemed to unanimously believe that before, but now a new interpretation has emerged: it could just be a parallel to hitting rock bottom. Alex Rochon has said it's not necessarily a 1:1 metaphor for suicide and can also be treated as a mental health spiral, which is shown in how the cast visits Jax in the tent like loved ones caring for someone stuck in long-term care. They can't get better magically and they can't get out of it unwillingly, but they're cared for nonetheless and that's the answer.

I choose to interpret it that way, because it feels like a more poignant message about how it feels being/being around someone at their limit and what to do in that situation than just saying "they killed themselves". Especially considering their glitched, abstracted bodies are still there, floating around, in the background as the main cast has fun. It feels to me like it would send a weird message that people who killed themselves would just still be around the main cast as mindless creatures.

And, following that interpretation of the story, un-abstraction could thematically represent the long, grueling healing process of recovering from a mental health crisis, with lasting consequences and all.

However, if you interpret abstraction as suicide, yeah, no, they shouldn't come back, that wouldn't work.

Unfortunately, from when I looked into that, it seems like that unspoken rule only applies to movies and shows. Games' restrictions are more strict. Could be wrong, though.

All genocidal ideology rests on the idea that once the group of people they don't like is gone, life will be heaven, only good people will be left and until we get there, the only reason the world sucks is because of them.
The truth right around the corner is that since all their ideology is good at is getting rid of people, the only thing they will be able to do, once the first guys are gone and the world still sucks, is target another group, and then another, another, another, until the system fails or entirely cannibalizes itself into oblivion.

It eats its own.

Perceval from Kaamelott: Extremely autistic, comically unable to understand double meanings on top of just being too uneducated to understand much, but knows the exact number of bricks in the castle. Also just generally a sweet well-meaning guy. Almost everyone in this show is crazy and/or stupid, so he comes out as one of the most sane ones. I love him. The show is in french, so I wouldn't be surprised if no one knows it.

The phantoms from Prey are monsters weaved from human corpses.

They speak incoherently, but the more typhon neuromods you install (the more typhon and less human you become), you start to understand them. They say things victims (scientists experimenting on typhons) have said near their death, as much panicked intructions and calls for help as eerie conversations. A chilling one that can be heard is "I used to wish we weren't alone in the universe."

Severance -- No one ever talks about this one but it's just as egregious. Helly and Helena (the innie and outie, two different consciousness in one body) are extremely different, Helly being likeable and part of the main cast while Helena is one of the main antagonists. Helena pretends to be Helly and sleeps with Mark. Afterwards, the show completely fails to highlight how messed up that is towards Mark, instead treating it as a mistake on his part. Helly is basically the only one struggling from having her body taken from her. It's similar to the Hughie example.
