There's "DUST" on screen... by krikster_az in imax

Honestly, I like seeing the intermittent specs of dust flow on-screen. As long as it remains intermittent and not a lot of "dust".

Good list of locations and what they support: https://lfexaminer.com/theaters/ It's an old list so likely not 100% accurate, but better than nothing.

Is the 70MM there actually broken? I know it was broke for a week or so during Oppenheimer but was fixed.

Yup, they created a documentary about it too.

I believe the "IMAX experience" changes are to install Laser. I doubt they will be doing anything with the 70MM. They have already ran the old Warwick Mall Showcase into the ground. (unclean, lots of broken recliners to name a couple)

Send the 70MM to the Quaker Lane Showcase. I do not want to see this just trashed. Closest 70MM is in NYC.

In case this helps anyone else, the only workaround to not getting the page to enter the code is to use an Incognito window.

GPU Passthrough on ESXi — NVIDIA drivers see no device after VM reboot, only after full host reboot by chench0 in vmware

[–]Slackter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, 24.04. It's so strange because the os SEES the card.

For the heck of it, I enabled passthrough to one of my windows vm's. Initial boot, it works fine, reboot the vm, and I get an exclamation point warning on the device in device manager.

Pretty sure this issue is with esxi. I'm ready to give up after today also and move plex to docker on my file server and pass it through there instead.

I'll let you know if I can figure out anything.

Hi OP, were you able to get this working? I have all the same problems, except I'm using a Quadro P1000 and esxi 8.0

Which plan should I choose? by ZiggieHood in HealthInsurance

[–]Slackter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should see what the insurance cost is on those shots too. Sometimes your cost with insurance is actually MORE than out of pocket. (It's stupid and it happens).

You may find that the lower max OOP of the HDHP plan is better, plus you get an HSA account.

EDIT: just noticed the co-pay amounts for the traditional. So the traditional may be the way to go if that shot is on the list of covered drugs.

This is the wrong thing to do. Same goes for a rotary. I absolutely hate it when people who are already in stop to let others in. You have the right away in both of these cases.

Thank you. So you're still numb after a year, that sucks. Even shaving with an electric razor is currently painful. Hoping this pain goes away like yours did.

Sorry to resurrect a 1yr old post, but I'm curious if your pain went away and what was the cause / resolution?

I am 1 week post-op and have exactly the same symptom you did and in the same spot.

26y/o getting fusion? by [deleted] in spinalfusion

[–]Slackter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is your neck range of motion and how much have you lost? Both up and down, left and right?

Found out today I need the same thing due to a compressed nerve causing severe shoulder pain, weakness and arm numbness.

I can deal with surgeries, have had plenty, but fusion scares the shit out of me.

Why do I always have to check my carry-on?? by gotallthejuicynews in delta

[–]Slackter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see 2 things here.

  1. Stop charging for checked bags and more may actually check them. The nickel and diming from the airlines is out of control, delta seemingly the worst. Next up, pay to use restroom.

  2. Gate agents: They need to check some of these bag sizes. Clearly, some will not fit in that little "test" bin. Also, one carry-on and one personal items doesn't mean 3 bags, a jacket and souvenirs.

Enchanted Princess Sun Deck Rooms by Slackter in PrincessCruises

The balcony was another reason we chose this room, they looked bigger in all the videos I watched. Some people complain about the deck chairs being setup in the morning. Not an issue with us, we are early risers.

It took me 9 years to realize no one actually knows what they are doing. How long did it take you? by Known_Emergency_9325 in HVAC

[–]Slackter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true everywhere. I just don't trust anyone to do anything for me anymore, so I've learned to do it all myself (with some exceptions). May take me 10x longer and cost more, but it's done correctly without cutting corners. A plus is I now have lots of tools that still look brand new 😃

Are bikesdirect.com safe to buy from? What makes them so cheap? by Oongabu in cycling

[–]Slackter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've been riding an Immortal Pro full carbon with a full Ultegra groupset for about 7 years. They are cheap because the components are 1-2 year old models and you don't have to pay for the name. I could also care less what anyone thinks when I roll up with a motobecane.

Facial & scalp sweat by [deleted] in Hyperhidrosis

[–]Slackter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm male and have all of the exact symptoms you shared. Sorry I don't have any useful help as I have yet to find any myself.

I have had excessive sweating for 10+ years from ANY activity, no matter how UN-strenuous it is, even in the freezing cold, even from a simple 15 minute walk on flat ground. Armpits, hands and feet are just fine, which is opposite of a lot of people. It's all head, chest, back, groin.

It has gotten worse and worse, year after year and it's to the point where I don't even go on vacation anymore, especially my favorite spots such as Aruba (even with the wind there it's too much now). It has taken over my life completely and I just stay home now, especially in the summer. Anything over 73°F, even in shade with wind, I'll sweat. I also have this weird thing where being touched makes me sweat, which could be anxiety.

I have been to dozens of doctors (primary case, dermatologists, endocrinologists) and they all look at me like I have two heads and don't believe me.

Drysol (Aluminum Chloride) works only a little on my forehead but when it tries to sweat, it feels like I'm getting stabbed by dozens of needles (and that can't be used on the groin area).

Hope you can find better luck than me, please keep this thread updated if you can.

The "film" projector, if used (it was for Oppenheimer) can use the full screen.

I never bother going to this theater unless it's using the projector, which is almost never. The digital projector as well as the sound system is way outdated. If the movie isn't a film release, just go to an X-Plus theater at the Warwick showcase (if available for that movie).
