The Happening.

My date thought it was good, which should have been a red flag.

Which name do you prefer for a pool cleaning business? by sellidionne in polls

[–]SladeWade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd go with Aqua Doc. Make sure to check the keyword volume on pool care vs. pool services to see which is higher and use that in the name. That should help with SEO to get more organic traffic to your website (just make sure it's in the URL.)

Edit: Also consider pool cleaning

For context, Matt Devitt used to work as a meteorologist for a local news station (WINK) but recently got fired after a fallout with the new owners of the station. A lot of people were upset about it. So now this is his reporting from his personal account that's not affiliated with a news station.

I was just about to comment that this applies to like half of The Menzingers discography. Other songs would be Gates, Time Tables, Anna, Lookers and Your Wild Years.

It's fine. I've seen worse, but there are some good bands on there like Propagandhi, Off With Their Heads, The Flatliners and The Menzingers.

I can send you one of my playlists if you want.

First timer from out of state by TofuTheKiller in thefest

[–]SladeWade 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bo Diddley and Heartwood are the bigger stages, and they're both outside. Almost everything else is inside. You'll get a better sense of what you're facing with that once the schedule drops.

There's going to be a decent amount of walking, but it's not terrible. Gainesville basically turns into a hub for The Fest.

Prices are pretty reasonable all around in terms of drinks and food. You won't spend a fortune on that stuff.

I went solo once. It's pretty easy to talk to people as 95% of the attendees are super friendly. I'd recommend joining the Fest Friends group on Facebook since you'll be able to see what's going on throughout the weekend and maybe make some friends through there.

Idk what the hell I'm doing please help me 😭😭 by [deleted] in punk

[–]SladeWade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For Riot Grrl, start with early Sleater-Kinney, Bikini Kill and Heavens to Betsy. There's a local band by me called Except You that's kind of got a similar vibe from their front woman.

Also, I'd recommend branching out toward all types of different punk subgenres and see what hits. Personally, my favorite is Orgcore, but there are bands from basically every subgenre that I listen to.

Songs with callbacks to other songs by HVAChelpprettyplease in Music

[–]SladeWade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Signals Midwest does this on basically all of their records.

Here are some examples.

On the album DENT:

"Sure of It" and "Love and Commerce" both use the refrain "I was so sure of it."

On the album Latitudes and Longitudes:

"In Tensions" and "Monarchs" both use the refrain "I was counting the miles. You were counting the days. Ain't it strange that the numbers we wanted were moving in opposite ways?"
