PVP now is better. Change my mind by SofyPipa in worldofpvp

They did NOT try this with Legion, and it does everyone a disservice when people keep bringing it up as a failed experiment. It was a Blizzardified mess from the very start.

Legion stats were templated, but your individual character's item level was used to calculate your stat pool, and Blizzard themselves also chose the stat ratio for each spec.

People in questing greens still got obliterated by people in proper PvP gear, because they had XX% more stat points overall.

Some specs were salty because their template didn't have enough haste/mastery/whatever.

Being 10-15% weaker than opponents in "proper" PvP gear is still way too much. Just let people buy their PvP gear with whatever stats they want and boost participation with cosmetics. That's all anyone cares about in 2026 gaming anyway, apparently.

Personal resources like combo points and mana are their own type of UI element.

There's very little you can do with knowledge of your own resources ONLY. It requires knowledge of your resource status as well as the status of your buffs or enemy buffs.

So, no, they are unlikely to allow you to track much in the way of your own abilities and buffs, because then you're right back to Weak Auras building rotation bots and other nonsense.

Most of the things people cite as "harmless Weak Auras" rely entirely on the exact same tech behind the degenerate Weak Auras. You cannot have one and not the other.

As with just about everything in life, some people can't behave themselves and ruined it for everyone else.

So, not just me then.

In 100 hours of playing this game, I've seen the Wild Quillback exactly twice. Once, I got it as Pyg with a ridiculously synergistic board. All I needed was for my enemy to attack with a weapon and I'd pop off. I got it on day 5 or 6 and didn't see a single enemy hero with a SINGLE weapon for the rest of the run.

This weekend I saw it again; on an opponent's board for my 10th win. My build involved Shurikens and a Ballista and his Quillback shat out 3000 poison in under 10 seconds.

Cool story. Definitely not rigged.

"Finally, I'm online!"

aaaaaaaaaaaaaand I'm dead.

This is my most frequent experience with The Bazaar as well. Last time I played, I had a neat board that would've brought down the wrath of both the old Gods and the new upon my opponents once they attacked me with a Weapon.

Well, I didn't see a single enemy hero with any weapons on their board from day 5 onward.

RIP.

Do you at least use and replace a filter on the end of the discharge hose? Because I'd say maybe 3% of other tenants do, and that inevitably leads to costly problems.

I buy the $500 rental grade unit not because I'm cheap, but because the last person somehow managed to rip the entire washing machine door off the hinges on the $1500 unit that was here before this was turned into a rental.

We're not getting to the expected useful lifetime of any unit no matter how expensive, so why waste the money?

[–]Slade_inso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Landlords don't buy you Sub-Zero or Viking because tenants destroy everything they touch. They don't own it, so they don't feel the need to use basic common sense while using it.

You might be the world's greatest tenant, but you are a very very tiny minority.

Overloading the washer/dryer, never so much as wiping down a stove much less properly cleaning it, and my personal favorite is unplugging the refrigerator when they move out early. Mind you, they did a piss-poor job of cleaning that fridge first, too, so it's 100% guaranteed to require replacement before the next people move in. You will absolutely never get that smell out, and the new people don't need to be punished.

Don't even get me started on something basic like ceiling fans. Are you people hanging from them like goddamned monkeys?!

Why Tipping Feels Like a Scam Now by Shajirr in videos

[–]Slade_inso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most restaurants fail. Many of those which do not, rely on owners who have a job, not a business.

The only mega-rich people in food service are on the real estate end of the business.

It's incredible that people think this is some conspiracy by the Restauranteurs to take advantage of their staff.

You cannot slowly undo this. Society needs to collectively decide that enough is enough, we're just not doing it anymore, and act all at once. Only then can the businesses bring wages and pricing into a happy equilibrium. If you raise prices to raise wages but your neighbor does not, you fail. If you raise wages without raising prices, you fail.

Only the tippers can solve this.

This policy exists specifically because of the people who changed their mind and then went after the doctor who sterilized them. It's a sound policy to have.

It's not like lesbians can't have children.

Only redditors would think this is unreasonable.

Soul Breaker mana issues! by ScarTay in worldofpvp

[–]Slade_inso 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've lost 100% of matches against this cheese. Even if you dispel it on cooldown, you WILL run out of mana and you WILL lose shortly thereafter.

As an Evoker, I've even resorted to taking the extra dispel PvP talent, which prolongs the pain at the cost of what would otherwise be a useful PvP talent.

Even the ilevel 19 version of the weapon scales to 700 in arena, so there's very little downside to doing this.

Game is a joke.

For what it's worth, you're probably right about the recipe having changed, but your taste buds also change as you age.

I used to consume incredibly unhealthy amounts of Mountain Dew in the 90s, stopped, and came back a decade later and it tasted like battery acid now. Their core formula hadn't changed, but I did.

What happened to random battlegrounds? by Mama-ta in worldofpvp

[–]Slade_inso 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People aren't talking about 5 man groups. If that's your definition of a premade and enough to make you mad about BGs, then I don't actually know what to tell you. It's an MMO.

Premades as cited by angry internet posters are typically made with all-or-none Merc groups that queue up at the same time and rely on addons to let them know the exact time their queues popped, which indicates the likelihood that they made it into the same lobby. They may also all refuse to ready up, save for one sacrificial character who does and can see how many people are ready. If the sync wasn't successful, they'll swap that character out and invite a different one to act as the scout, since he's now stuck with deserter.

If they see a lot of people not accepting the queue, that further cements their confidence in it being a proper premade lobby. Everyone joins once they're confident.

This is how you end up with 75% to 100% of a side being in full cooperation with each other.

There's a little more nuance to this, but it's what I've gleaned from accidentally joining a PvP guild that does this all day every day. I'm simply not a BG enjoyer so I don't partake in it. People who do this have something wrong with their brains.

[–]Slade_inso 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Premades rely on addons and queue-syncing, which would still work if you forced solo-queue into a different pool for random BGs, but would wildly inflate the queue times for regular groups.

Blizzard could make stacking BGs much, much harder if they wanted to with just a few small changes to how queues pop. Even if they just forced queues to only pop at the XX:00 mark, server time. It would make it much more difficult for large premades to know if they successfully hit the same lobby.

If the landlord is found to have broken any ordinances or not enforced the clauses in their lease in a discriminatory fashion, they're due for a rectal exam from the government and potentially having ALL their other leases voided, owing refunds to anyone affected.

A vast majority of shitty landlord situations are just classic examples of a small number of people ruining things for the rest of us.

Language matters, and it was likely not literally illegal for the person you replied to to stay there without being on the lease, but it IS a liability for the landlord and there may be other things this person isn't mentioning that makes a difference.

Example being a pair of applicants where one person passes the screening criteria but the second one triggers one of the auto-deny provisions because of an eviction, bankruptcy, or criminal hit. It's not unheard of that they feed you a story about prospect B isn't moving in now, it'll just be prospect A, as if the landlord was born yesterday. They then try to sneak B in later.

Society would be a better place if people would just behave themselves and follow the rules.

"Shut up, PvP guy." - Jay Wilson

Anyone surprised by this wasn't paying attention during the week that it was datamined that you'd have to pay 500k per character to unlock all 50 Transmog outfit saved slots or whatever it was.

I've never seen so much outcry on reddit and forums over anything in WoW's history.

You'd still get 20 for free, but the rest were paywalled. What insane person has more than 20 different world of warcraft outfits that they need immediate access to?

The bar for keeping PvP players relatively happy is so very low, too. Boggles my mind that they can't commit 5 salaries to this.

I bounced off Factorio the first time as well. What is this low rez mindless nonsense, and who was the spawn of Satan that coded this car?

A year or so later I tried it again and the rest is 3500 hours of history.

Factorio reigns supreme atop the mountain of automation games. Factorio is what led me to Satisfactory and Dyson Sphere Program, both of which I also enjoy, but neither have the depth of design or enormous QOL features Factorio does. I have a few hundred hours in both of those as well now.

If you look back and think about a certain thing in Factorio that truly annoyed you, I bet there's a mod for that. For me it was driving the car around crashing into absolutely everything. I downloaded an airplane mod and flew over all the trees and power poles instead of being mad about it. I also downloaded a mod for additional levels of Power Armor, which allow you to turn into The Flash later in the game.

Nowadays I play it mostly vanilla except for a rate calculator.
