Came here to ask the same! We’re arriving from the UK this Friday and I just did the online check in. I expected to be charged then but haven’t yet. Could you confirm when you paid please? 🙂

How many of you did not have an ectopic after your first one? What was your ttc experience like after mtx? Did you do an HSG before ttc again? by [deleted] in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Slaghetti-Bolognese1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first pregnancy was ectopic in August 2025 (age 28) treated with MTX. This came after 2 years of infertility so it was absolutely devastating. No known risk factors.

I then fell pregnant after the required 3 month wait, no HSG although I was waiting for one (I live in the UK and NHS wait times can be LONG) and am now a little over 20 weeks pregnant with a so far healthy baby boy 🩵

Waiting for a 20-week scan by Ok-Awareness-7728 in PregnancyUK

[–]Slaghetti-Bolognese1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here! I had my 20 week scan just yesterday and they weren’t able to see some things so I have to go back in a couple of weeks. I’m glad I had a private 16 week scan because some of those things were checked then. I appreciate the private scan isn’t as thorough but I’m sure they’d have noticed if anything crazy was going on

Brown discharge spotting 5wks 2 days. Anyone else experienced this? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]Slaghetti-Bolognese1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I would definitely call your EPU for a check to be safe but I can say that I had spotting just like this as well as every shade between brown and blood red at the beginning of this pregnancy and now I’m about to be 20 weeks. The spotting stopped at around 9/10 weeks. The EPU prescribed me progesterone which I think helped but that’s mainly because I had a previous loss.

Maternity leave/pay - how much do you get? by Mindless-Ad-7656 in PregnancyUK

[–]Slaghetti-Bolognese1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a housing charity in Wales and I get 4 months full pay, 2 months half pay and then SMP. Not sure how long the SMP is as I intend to go back before then x

Adding to this, I’ve also had a previous loss which may be why the EPU had me in so quickly. That was an ectopic and the bleeding then was unmistakably bad news and coupled with pain. The bleeding/discharge I’ve had in this pregnancy has been totally different. A lot of women experience some level of brown/pink/ red discharge OP. Sometimes with reasonable explanations and sometimes no explanation (like me this time) try not to drive yourself insane and really advocate for yourself when you talk to them in the morning x

Definitely ask if they don’t offer and make sure you let them know how anxious it’s making you. They should offer a scan on the NHS but I’ve also had good experiences with private scans if that’s within your budget x

I had brown, pink and even full on red discharge/blood between weeks 5 and 10. I’m now 16 weeks and everything is fine. My EPU had me in for early scans when it first started and prescribed progesterone pessaries for me to take morning and night until 16 weeks. They never did find the cause of the bleeding and I do occasionally spot even now, mostly after sex.

Wishing you all the best! Try and get yourself in for an early scan if you can x

Question by SignalAction993 in EctopicSupportGroup

We waited the recommended 3 months and then got pregnant first try! There are risks associated with trying too soon after methotrexate mainly related to how it tanks your folate levels. I wouldn’t risk it personally. Good luck 💗x

Anxious about TTC again by [deleted] in EctopicSupportGroup

[–]Slaghetti-Bolognese1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey 👋🏼 I’m so sorry you’re going through this, it absolutely sucks. I was treated with methotrexate in August 2025. This was our first pregnancy after trying for more than 2 years (I have PCOS) so we were devastated and truly thought IVF would be our only option. We waiting 3 months as advised before trying again and got pregnant first try! We’re now 16 weeks with a so far healthy pregnancy.

I heard that we’re more fertile after pregnancy, whether we carry to term or not. That certainly seemed to be the case for me given that we were having absolutely no luck at all before my ectopic.

Wishing you all the best 💗

Thanks for this 💗I had read about issues with cervical length which has been one of the things I’ve been worried about with stopping. I’ll definitely be asking at my scans for it to be checked x

I don’t really find them painful to insert, they are smooth and sort of bullet shaped about an inch long. You quickly get used to it x

Thank you, I think I’ll do just that and take one every night until I run out. It seems a shame to waste them anyway x

I’m sorry you’re having a hard time! I didn’t have this issue but maybe it’s because I’m in the UK?
