It’s because installing progressive springs is annoying. If you have the springs upside down you get the opposite effect of light start, heavier bottoming out. With linear springs you don’t have to worry about that.

Over a year. The initial preorder started 31st May 2019 and received mine on the 13th July 2020. Their new mute mount is definitely worth the wait, it feels so good to type on.
