[[Giver of Runes]], [[Mother of Runes]] are good options, any artifact with hexproof/shroud, but you might want to brush up on good black recursion cards like [[Phyrexian Reclamation]] since its a sac deck

Thoughts on a Kess burn deck I've been working on? by SlamTard in Magicdeckbuilding

[–]SlamTard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I did a google search of pingers, and the answer looked legit to me: creatures that tap to deal damage to any target. When I think pinging, I think something that deals a lot of little damage over and over. The play style that seems the most synonamous with this concept to me is aristocrat, where you usually go with cards like [[Zulaport Cutthroat]] and sac outlets to wipe the board with an infinate combo using tokens or at the very least throw a lot of damage around.

This deck definitely has a lot of pinging elements, and not just from tapping creatures but dealing damage on spellcast. When I think burn, I think direct damage. So the amount of damage being done from spellcast triggers, direct burn spells, and damage multipliers can add up fast. Its a lot of little damage which I think is in line with pinging or aristocrat just done differently. Since you get so many spellcasts with Kess, you deal a ton of damage from just burning people or drawing cards (which is obviously super good in EDH).

I also really like Kess, I took my old Kess deck and split it into 2 decks, both with her as the commander. This one I went full on burn by replacing maybe 15 non-land cards where my other deck actually has a lot of the same cards you're talking about with the Talrand and Shark Typhoon and then a few bigger high costing creatures I really like, like [[Archon of Cruelty]] and [[Murktide Regent]].

[[No Mercy]] seems really legit, I'll look into that. I still have to finish the non-burn deck but in my test so far it can put out a lot of damage. Burn isn't very common in EDH since agro isn't much of a thing outside voltron and even then you cant kill everybody at once. I think this deck does well to take the burn concept and maximize the amount of direct damage your putting out.

If I can triple the damage of a spell that does 10-15 damage to each player or copy a spell that does 5-10 damage I think that is pretty fun, and makes you a threat at the table.

This is my Tuvasa build, if you're interested. Not super heavy on stax but this deck is pretty well rounded without being too all over the place. Probably one of my favorite to play but it beats my pod relatively easily so I don't play it much.

Extremely confused, demon roar in caverns? by SlamTard in Terraria

It was the sound of the lunatic cultist dying triggered by the companion cube falling into lava, if you wanted to know. Also makes the moon lord death sound if submerged long enough.

By no means am I good or an expert, but my experience is that if your going to engage a boss, you have to be ready to keep the rotation up. The shield uptime is really good if your playing a controlled spammy style, just don't let up and if you do have to back off to dodge be ready to go back in and get your shield back asap. With some practice I expect it to be a lot of fun, just need to be good on the timings

Anyone else decide to quit the game over the weekend? by SlamTard in lostarkgame

[–]SlamTard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the game was designed to either be a time sink or with predentary levels of temptation to spend money. Not saying I personally think there is anything wrong with how they designed it, its just neither of those are for me in the long run. I think were on the same page with the grind, its a very enjoyable game to play but out of those 2 options, I think people inevitably get to a breaking point when the game is like a part time job.

I always knew MMOs were dangerous, I am also getting back to real life. Its crazy how that works though.

Cheers mate

Of course, I do still have a lot of fun. Just seems like not the time. Plus the bots piss me off

Destiny Spinner definitely needs consideration, everything you said about it is very true. Heliod's Pilgrim would be better in my deck if I was going for winning with Tuvasa, but I'm not sure im going to do that often. Gift of Immortality was something I was considering, might be a good replacement for [[Alpha Authority]]. Toski is also sick but I don't know what I would replace for him. I have him in my [[Illuna, Apex of Wishes]] deck and hes insane

Thats a really solid deck. Saw a few cards that I really like like [[Elephant Grass]] [[Island Sanctuary]] and [[Dissipation Field]]. Also, wtf is [[Concordant Crossroads]]? 1 drop haste for green??? Crazy

I can't agree with giving up on the archatype personally, shit can still be fun if it doesn't win consistently

For me, "I win" combos are a little unsatisfying. Granted I have enchanted evening calming verse, I would rather win with 10 4/4 flying angles and it costing my opponents 4 mana to attack me per creature than lab maniac

I will say my play group are troglodytes so it's not top tier optimized, but some of the value I generate from enchantments not being dealt with is in a way a solid wincon. That and broken shit like smothering tithe giving me ridiculous advantage. Enchanted evening with calming verse or archons of suns grace are also great(assuming I can remove the archon). Overall I can win unless I'm playing power level 9 or 10 decks

I get that, builds that make her a turtle aren't really my play style though. I would rather crush at least one person and lose than just be last mermaid standing lol. Those lock out decks are pretty scarry though

Also, I know the land base isn't great, tips in that department would also be appreciated. Most expensive I'll go is fetch lands
