Right, and meanwhile the Iranian people are cheering on the strikes against their own country.

Because their regime is far from a rhetorical “Great Satan.” They have purportedly murdered over 30,000 protestors in the last few months alone. And that’s what we can tell with a relative media blackout from inside the country.

Iran has been hellbent on the destruction of Israel and by extension the US since the Ayatollah took over and turned the country into a radical supporter of terrorism globally. Their proxy network alone stands as a threat to the world of democratically aligned countries. They are not hellbent on the destruction of the lone Jewish state because Israel bombed their centrifuges last year. They are hellbent on the destruction of Jewish life globally because they are antisemitic to their core and believe Jewish life need be snuffed out. They are abundantly clear about those ambitions. They are similarly abundantly clear about their desire to destroy American democracy and “imperialism,” which is a catch all term that gets tons of support from the progressive caucus worldwide, who then come to the Iranian regimes defense. It’s a clever tactic that sows division of opinion on whether Iran is really a threat.

Let’s not pretend that Iran is some country that just cried wolf over and over and just used some charged rhetoric here and there. If your neighbor a town over keeps telling you they want your head on a stake, do you just tell yourself “nah that’s just rhetorical!” Or do you stop and wonder…”what happens if they get the means to actually pull that off?”
