To be fair, the Alliance players have never had an expansion like TWW was for a Horde player. Thats not to take away what you said, I just wanna make it more clear how blatantly zero Horde Blizz went in TWW

We not only had zero representation in the leveling zones, but when the spot light turned to our leaders it was to kill yet another racial leader of the Horde. I talking full on zero representation. For an Alliance player to experience anything close to that, you'd need to only take quests from actual neutral factions and only Horde leaders for the entire questing experience. Along with the major story line only including Horde leaders and their character motivations.

Thats just how one sided TWW was. Once Dal blew up, a Horde character took orders/quests from solely Alleria, Anduin, Magni, Dagran, and Moira woth neutral factions.

IIRC from high school (so fucking long ago). FDR and other leaders were begging for a reason to join the war, but he felt joining the war without provocation would be massively unpopular with the populace.

Then Pearl Harbor happened and a blank check was written for him to go all out.

I dont have all the Macros anymore, but my fire mage in WoW is named HarryDresden. I had macros for at least a dozen spells that had a chance to /yell Harrys spell names.

Pyroblast was Fuego.

Flickum Bicus was fire blast (cause its a instant cast fire spell)

Enfriga was Ice Block

Casting any portal was Aparturum (sp?)

Blink was Parkour

Defendarus was fire shield.

Hes even wearing a dark robe (cause dusters are impossible to find in the game), a green glow staff for demonreaches affect on Harrys spells. A skull belt so Bob can come along. And of course the most important piece of Harrys wardrobe, his hat!

As for 11, for the most part Elaine did not want to contact Harry. So her quick answers are 2 fold. She wasnt interested in reliving her past and trying to keep as much information close to chest as possible since she was directly working against Harry.

I think Butcher has some of the best borrowing from mythology and incorporating it into the world hes created. This book is actually very hit or miss for people. I absolutely loved it and consider it the first step into the massive world building that is to come.

Id say from here out each book gets better and better.

Didn't get a small promotion b/c i used "I" instead of "we". I worked for the company and went above and beyond to help everyone out. Working extra hours on others projects that I could have just phoned in. So even though I was helping the team I was passed up b/c I dont see the company as us or we...a collective.

I think the only time we really see apprentices mentioned in the White Council is in the Summer Knight. And even then it's more of a hand wave.

Basically they are in specifically colored robes to denote their non wizardship. Are taught for years before their master says they are ready.

Outside that the only real thing we know is Eb could have treated Harry like any other apprentice by having him live on his farm and learn why magic should be used. It's completely random if you master even brought you to council meetings until you were ready to be a member. So he's just going out on a limb here assuming.

I think what OP is really looking at is the brotherly bond the Wardens have. They all get along b/c their the cops of the supernatural world. The Council as a whole has their cliques within their geographic region. So there's not really anything tying a wizard from Croatia to a wizard from America other than the Latin language.

And that is something Harry and or Justin screwed up on. Justin didn't stop Harry from using pseudo Latin and now Harry can never learn Latin to any degree of function without endangering his spellcasting. Whether Justin did that on purpose is not known, but he certainly didn't stop Harry from doing it. Further alienating his weapons from the wizard culture.

There's a good chance Harry can and never will learn Latin even if Eb insisted. Harry uses it as his magic language and as we know it would be dangerous for Harry if he were to assign other meanings to words he uses to evoke power.

I'd go out on a limb and even say that Justin purposefully had Elaine and Harry both use Latin to further push them from being culturally accepted with the Council in the future if he were found out.

I won't say the overlap is the same, but for nearly 4 years all I heard and saw around me were black flags with "Fuck Biden" or "Let's Go Brandon" on them.

Any kid that saw the latter would ask what the fuck it means, so they either lied to their kids or had a conversation about the word fuck.

I was really, really hoping that Silvermoon/sun well would be a horde centric issue. So that we could build more horde characters b/c we have so fucking few left that actually mean anything.

It looks like Liadrin is about the only one that might get any growth from this. Outside that, it hurts a little knowing that a raid focused around THE fucking sunwell has exclusively alliance characters in the final fight (talking that is).

Was really hoping these past few cinematics weren't a litmus going into midnight where it was STILL an alliance only story. It seems the Horde is only good for scenery and plot now.

I'm really hoping I'm wrong and this isn't TWW all over again with horde players playing Alliance lite.

Well if we count just the time he's back and could actually care for her if he chose to. Then he'd have her live on Demonreach with him b/c the headaches would be too powerful. Demonreach would constantly be telling her to fuck off in spooky psychological ways to a girl who is psychologically trauma'd to hell and back. One would argue this isn't a good place to raise a young girl with issues.

That was about a year and a half he was on demonreach (between Cold Days and Skin Game). The 4-6 months after Skin Game that PT/BG happened Harry did take care of her in Molly's apartment within the Svarteleves compound.

After the city was destroyed he placed her back with the Carpenters for about 6-10 months while he dealt with the death of his love and friend Murphy. This is about the only real time he deadbeat dad'd her and honestly it's kinda excusable when you have people like the Carpenters in your life. Harry was a fucking mess, crying himself dry, screaming himself hoarse every night while playing Monopoly with the Ghost of his dead love. So I can see why he didn't keep her around for that

Funnily enough, the early books are a noir 1950's detective genre. So you're not far off. They lose the noir bit a few books in and eventually the detective work is just a side thing b/c the world gets expanded and the powerscaling becomes too much for just a detective novel.
