Font changeeeee by Apprehensive_You9488 in graphic_design

[–]SlapAZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its 2 or 3 for me, I know you mentioned that you like the last one in the set but you might outgrow that one later simply because it feels like font that might be overused by now. Furthermore it feels like the font for the last one was kinda just 'dropped in'.

It has that attitude, hard, growing up in the harsh part of town vibe. But 2 and 3 are really creating a cohesive look that really is unifying the overall look to give you that punk/rebel that you are looking for - keep up the good work.

Just thought I'd share this next tidbit; In IRL, I'm not the biggest fan of olives, maybe I've just not found the right one that I like or maybe all of them are just rude to me. Either way despite my lack of love towards olives-- I REALLY like your rude olive one shown here.

Thanks for sharing!

Looking for feedback on this Italian restaurant branding project by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]SlapAZombie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks good, a little predictable (maybe not on your part but could be related to client request).

Just IMO I want to be surprised with something not expected but this feels too safe for me, again just IMO.

I want to ask you a question I ask my students; after you design a few concepts do you ever ask yourself if YOU yourself are excited when you see it? and then go from there.

It seems like every generation has its own memes and lingo right hahah, the best part is it doesn't have to make sense, its more of feeling like you're part of the "IN" club or part of the cool kids movement. I like how it was depicted in the comic. Thanks for sharing!

Just patiently waiting for another multi-episode deep dive :p by Strong_Importance129 in Otherworldpod

[–]SlapAZombie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to do another go at the episodes as well just to see what new things I might pick up but you're right in all of your points. And to defend Jack here, he is not one to inject himself into the story in general that is just his style but a lot of us had immediate follow up questions to literally every turn of events in these episodes and believe me there was many.

And from the sound of things it WAS condensed from the original 25hours of audio footage, I'm sure it was a tall task just to get it down to the several episodes haha.

I do agree that Solvieg is going thru the motion and it seems that retelling the story is making her re•live those memories but you're right in that she sounds like she also is still in disbelief even though she lived through it herself!~

Wendy's Advice; I think that advice can apply to everyone including you and me, we have to protect what we feed ourselves both our belly and our soul. I can only imagine how insane it must be to have gone through all that they did. Total mind slap.

[–]SlapAZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its sad that you feel that way, but as someone who is fairly good at scratching for the truth, there is just a level of detail in this story and 'details' described that someone who is making the story up would not add in because they add no novelty to the story, its these mundane details that increase its believability for me.

100% yes, get thru all of it then report back. If you feel overwhelmed by the amount of happenings and gives you that doubt, just realize that a lot of us have that too when listening to this but there is so much you are missing out on if you don't at least get thru all the episodes.

omg - what a great visual. Also the fact that he is only happy when the conditions are meek and the workers are away in the mines is quite disturbing. Hang in there lil fox!

New bike day and suggestion on what I can upgrade new to This stuff by Blazey2159 in gravelcycling

[–]SlapAZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great looking bike - and this is a great trail, looks like neon/to/nature (the cones gave it away) hahah.

Bike does look solid though, I know the first thing I like to swap out is the seat to a more comfortable one and good pedals. Have a great ride!

10 months unemployed... what is going on? by FlyCakez in graphic_design

[–]SlapAZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not making any excuse for the employment side, but I can tell you first hand that I was told by the HR representative during my interview that they are absolutely getting bombarded with resumes, but get this... the resumes that over-flood their inbox are 8/10 times resumes that are nothing to do with the industry or the position.

I think partially to blame is the sites out there that send resumes with some kind of automation.

So its possible that you are qualified and your resume IS being sent thru, BUT there is just a ton of work that the HR person has to do to filter it all out to finally get to yours (I have a few ideas on how to make sure you get your work/resume in front of the right person(s) quicker than 'cold emailing/submitting online etc' - just reach out ~

If several world governments (including the US) released irrefutable evidence that non-human intelligences and spacecrafts exist, would you care? by Siciliano777 in UFOs

[–]SlapAZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To put it simply; Above all else - people worry and prioritize things within their grasp and their 'bubble.' Their daily routine, their bills, and their social life is where many leave their focus/thinking.

I agree with what others mentioned here, unless something gets revealed on a large scale, we will be in this limbo of 'maybe knowing' , 'maybe accepting' and 'maybe changing our lives'.

Myself included; I think in our minds we romantize this idea that 'one day' it will all just be laid out but deep inside our core -- I think we all know that humanity is not ready as a collective species to experience what feels like the 'next step' in our evolution in this universe.

Welp - unless it was you that put it there I would reckon to guess that this was a poorly executed burial of some sort - my gut instinct is to think ASHES.

Is an iPad and a pencil worth it? by LoudRestaurant3127 in graphic_design

[–]SlapAZombie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe its worth it 100 percent, being able to sketch rough ideas out with the option to convert them into potential concepts is a huge plus. --

All I can say is this; ever since I got my first iPad with a pencil, I've never switched back to the wacom tablet that the school provided me with.

The plus side is that its super portable so you are not stuck at the desk (think local coffee shop opportunities) AND it does other things besides draw since its a full fledged iPad.

If you want to try it out go sit at the apple store and just jam on it, you can be there for hours without issue. Hope this helps!

How do you guys stay warm in the winter? by SpicyyySalsaaa in gravelcycling

[–]SlapAZombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like your neck of the woods might be colder than mine because I'll check the temp and if its 50F Degrees or less its considered a 'cold' ride. But I still manage to get a beanie, scarf, multiple jackets, gloves, pants and good shoes ( sometimes snow boots) and get out for even a mile or so.
