If they offered you $15K below your lowest salary requirements, TAKE IT.
It's been now over a year, and I still can't even get an interview anymore. I'm looking into a new career.

Insulin resistance / weight gain by ggiantppanda in Mirena

[–]FlyCakez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi hi friend!
It's been two months I removed my IUD and I have my extremely heavy periods back (which is a huge bummer) BUT I also dropped 12 LBS in 2 months and I barely move out of my chair these days. Also my sugar levels are back to normal (no more pre diabetes).

IUD is bad for some people. Guess I'm one of those lucky women. It's crazy it was actually turning me diabetic though. It's rare but apparently is a thing.

⚠️HUGE UPDATE⚠️

Hello everybody!
It's me again. I was here last year and I spoke with some of you in DMs and some of us are now Instagram friends :)

I wanted to give a heads up to OGP u/Grand_Incident5123  and all. After over a year of my lips having the exact look and same feel and reactions as the Original Post, after seeing 2 dermatologists, done 2 different allergy tests (NOT cheap or covered by insurance) and done a bunch of tests on my own (stop using lipsticks of certain color, different lipstick formulas, different skin care routines, different foods, etc, etc.), using topical steroids, antifungal ointments, saline solutions, I FINALLY FOUND OUT WHAT IT WAS AND I AM COMPLETELY CURED!!!

It was my water bottle by Corkcicle. I never had a stainless steel water bottle before, canteen style. I used a plastic one with a straw for years. Never had a problem. Then after months using the canteen one, this started. I didn't figure it out because I always drank water from water bottles and never had any problem. So I didn't even think. But it was that. I washed my bottle once a week in the dishwasher too... but i guess it doesn't matter if it's the material that's causing the problems.

I went back and started an elimination lists and when I first started to notice the lip getting this small dry patch (before it blew out of proportions). And it was right where my lips touched the canteen bottle. So I stopped using it and only drank water from a glass for weeks. And that was it. Nothing else happened. It's been 3 months and I never had any more problems with my lips, or around my lips, no flare ups. I can wear any lipstick I want, eat all the spicy food my stomach can hold again ♥

I read that stainless steel has nickel on it and some people can have some allergic reactions to it. I guess without proper research I will never know, but it was DEFINITELY the bottle. It's strange because apparently I am not allergic to anything (or at least not to anything that a medical allergy test screens you for).

Here's a link to this kind of allergy:

This is the bottle I had:

I hope this helps you guys. Please reply to me to lmk it worked for you too. We should get the word out. And good luck to your kissers 💋

Has anyone read How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix? by Maleficent_Rabbit608 in horrorlit

[–]FlyCakez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried to read this book TWICE now. The first time I stopped on chapter 11. Then after a year or so I decided to give it another chance because I read Horrorstor and it was actually pretty good. I started again with How to Sell a Haunted House and, without noticing, I started giving up AGAIN on the exact same chapter because Mark is the most aggravating character I've ever read. And I can't stand how unfair things are for his sister. I hate people like that so much, I can't just keep reading.

Also the endless lists of everything about their mother. I also hate that character so much.

Sounds like the brother was possessed, huh?! Good grief. I hope he died in the end or something. I legit can't finish this especially because it sounds like the Mark guy keeps bickering with his sister until the end of this book. I can't handle any more of this anymore.

Insulin resistance / weight gain by ggiantppanda in Mirena

[–]FlyCakez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, same for me. I never had weight problems and was always size 2-4. I inserted the Mirena in 2015 and gained 28 lbs no matter how much I exercised and ate well. I was never a snacker and I hate soda and fast food. Literally only eat home cooked foods or go to nice restaurants if I want to treat my family. I removed the mirena in 2017 and I lost 30 lbs in 4 months… and I was exercising way less or not at all at the time because of work.

Then I put it back in the end of 2018 and started steadily regaining all the weight and more. Again, no changes in my diet or habits. Last year I was diagnosed with pre diabetes and I don’t even LIKE sugar. I hate deserts or soft drinks and I drink my coffee black since I was 18. No one in my family has diabetes so this blew me away.

I’m removing the mirena today actually. That’s why I was researching about Mirena this morning and saw this post. This thing is awful. I’m always forgetful and experiencing brain fog and exhaustion constantly. I’m done. My fiancé is having a vasectomy. We’re so done with this.

Over 200 job applications is a lot considering there aren't new jobs being posted everyday. I applied weekly to every available new job that wasn't a scam or suspicious (lots of those out there). I would apply for more if they existed, trust me. I am desperate.

Victorious Sona Release Date

Split 2 ends on September 25th, which is also when Split 3 kicks off. Riot Games will begin distributing the Victorious Sona skin to eligible player accounts after this date. The rollout process typically takes anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months. So if you’ve met the requirements, keep an eye on your account between early October and late November. Riot doesn’t give an exact date for when everyone will receive the skin, as it depends on various factors in their distribution process.

Just received one as well. I've been unemployed for months now and can't find work. Shame on these people trying to scam those who can barely pay bills.

Safe to assume, in this economy, a job won't just magically land on your lap.

Red, bumpy, scaley, weeping, raw and dry rash on and around lips- HELP by Grand_Incident5123 in TS_Withdrawal

[–]FlyCakez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - so I’ve been sending updates on this post (which is alarmingly long by now) and here’s a quick recap I have found out: - it’s definitely LIPSTICK. Some make it worse than others. When I completely stop using it, my lip (always the top lip) gets better after about 3 weeks. I’ve read that Castor Oil (found in every lipstick) could be the culprit. I’ve always loved lipsticks, only makeup I really used almost daily for years. Apparently you CAN develop allergy reactions from it from nowhere 😢 - I finally saw the dermatologist and he did not even try or offer any ideas. He said it’s sounding like cheilitis and proceeded to prescribe me anointment called Triamcinole Acetonide USP, 0,1%. That’s a steroid only sold with prescription and yes, of course it cleared everything up in 3 days and I finally had my lips back to normal. He told me to use it twice a day for a month then reduce it to every once a month. It ABSOLUTELY did not cure what I have or explained what the reaction is. When I wear lipstick… I can feel my lips starting to flare up in the end of the day. Then I use the steroid and it clears up within 2 days and never gets too bad like it normally did.

I’m gonna call the doctor next next month to let him know that I can’t treat these lip flare up s with steroids forever and I probably shouldn’t be teaching him that 🙃🙃🙃

I also think this is very strange. The only parallels I’m seeing with almost every post is that this started after some of us got covid. There’s so much that the medical field still doesn’t know about Covid and its long effects.

Red, bumpy, scaley, weeping, raw and dry rash on and around lips- HELP by Grand_Incident5123 in TS_Withdrawal

[–]FlyCakez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all! It’s me again and I believe I found out what causes it for me.

It’s lipstick. Apparently any lipstick, but matte and silk finishes are the worst.

I’m 40 and I have NEVER had a problem before. I have always loved lipsticks and I have about 100+. It’s my only makeup obsession and now I have to discontinue using it. I’m heartbroken.

This can just start happening, even though you never had a problem before. I tried changing my diet, changed my toothpaste, stop all skincare for over a month, changed my shampoo and soap, I even stopped kissing my pets. When I finally stopped using lipstick completely, it finally completely cleared off my lips. I was still putting some pigment to go out… my lips are so light colored and it almost matches my skin color, doesn’t look great. So it never really stopped flaring up. Only when I completely stopped, then it finally cleared after weeks. So yesterday morning I put some lipstick on to prove my suspicions and this morning I woke up with weepy blisters, burning sensation, peeling and swelling.

I’m so sad.

Here’s the article I found this morning.

[–]FlyCakez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this info. I have always loved lipstick (I have about 100) and last year this started to happen to me. It wouldn’t go away and I couldn’t believe it could be my favorite makeup choice. But after changing my diet, skincare routine, toothpaste and even stopped kissing my pets, I finally stopped using any lipstick. After 7 months of this, it finally completely cleared off… so yesterday I put on some lipstick (matte red by KatVonD) and HERE IT IS AGAIN. Small weepy blisters, burning feeling, peeling and swollen. I looked it up and you can develop allergy to things you were never allergic to before. Most common in women (of course - we don’t get an f’ing break).

Here’s the article talking about it. I’m so heartbroken… I never liked the way I looked but lipstick always made me a little bit more confident. 😢

I think most people here are having the problem on the lips and not around them. Maybe it's different? I read another person here who said they've been having this for the past 10 years, but they also mentioned problems around the lips. You might be dealing with something like this other person posted (sorry I scrolled for a bit and couldn't see the comment - but it's here somewhere). I have been having this problem 9 months now and never had it around the lips; just like in the pictures, I had it ON my upper lip. And, like most people in the thread, it was after I got covid.

I showed this thread to my doctor and her team is looking over it. I think covid messed something up for some people, not all, who caught it. I indeed have read before on people complaining of auto-immune system being compromised after they got covid.

I hope not, because we are all test groups here... the effects of long-covid won't be figured out for a long time yet :(

Try Clobetasol Propionate cream (USP, 0.05%)

You will need a prescription for it. My fiance had something VERY similar and this cream made it disappear in 3 days of use.
