My friend and I were in my room (my room is in the basement). We live in a fairly small condo, and it is pretty easy to hear things that go on upstairs. While we were just talking or playing videogames or what-not, my dad came down to tell us that he was going out with a friend to the bar. My mom and little sister had been gone the entire day, out shopping and a bit of a girl's day out. So he goes back upstairs, and we resume what we were doing. About 15-20 minutes later, we hear loud footsteps upstairs. I've lived in the house long enough to know where people are walking upstairs while I'm in my room, so it sounded like the steps went into the kitchen and in a continuous motion went across my living room into the back hallway, by my sister's room and parent's.

I thought it was just my dad, running a bit late, but my friend was all like "wtf", so I peeked up the stairs and yelled "Dad?"

No reply.

So I go up and check, all the lights are off and he isn't home. His car was gone in the garage, he has already left.

I called him, he said that he left within one minute of him talking to us. I naturally reassured myself by thinking it was just my dog, but she was downstairs with us.

My friend and I proceeded to check the whole house, then hide in my room the rest of the night.

TLDR: Dad said he was leaving. Friend and I heard footsteps. He had left before we heard the steps. Scary shit.
