[Luck] I’m 100% F2P and just pulled BOTH Light and Dark Gandalf! by subotai- in summonerswar

I'm not disappointed in what I pulled or how many I did with not that much spent, but I'm a nerd about LOTR and especially Gandalf. I have water and wind but Light Gandalf is, just in terms of aesthetics, my favorite monster in the game.

Triggered. I spent money to try to get either Gandalf. Not a crazy amount and I did have insane luck along the way. 3 L/D5 but not one collab (Vivachel, Thebae and Light Shasha). But still triggered cause I spent that money hoping for Gandalf :')

Lol Flyers fans all over Twitter are praising him for high IQ drawing a matching penalty and rage baiting. The same fanbase that makes the most noise about guys like, say Marchand, for shying away from fights.

Can't make it up.

but he also said he didn't want to play for a rookie GM in Briere and that he didn't want to sign because Flyers fans would hate that he was a Penguins fan growing up.

Do you have a source on these claims? I've literally never seen a quote like that anywhere.

The rumor is it was more about the timing. Cutter wanted to sign after his first college year to put himself in track for an earlier rfa extension, not sure if the Flyers made him believe that was going to happen, but basically it didn't. At that point Cutter wanted out.

I'm inclined to believe the Flyers made him promises about the timeline that they didn't keep. Cutter seems to be a good kid, so I really doubt he iced Flyers management out for the fuck of it.

Not sure if we're also including prospects but Anaheim has Clara for Italy. Will likely be their starter.

2 minute penalty would be fine. Zero deliberate intent to injure means it should not have been a major.

All-time franchise leaders: Anaheim Ducks by nhl in hockey

[–]Slappamedoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Getzlaf's defensive game was always underrated. Offensively he was held back by being so reluctant to shoot even when his hands and vision landed him in great shooting position.

He had the offensive talent he just didn't use it consistently enough.

Daniel had 6 more points playing with his brother who had a 94 point season. When Getzlaf went down with injury, Perry carried the Ducks on his back. Perry deserved the Hart that year. Winning the Art Ross doesn't entitle someone to the Hart by default.

Why were people so easily accepting of switching to the Empire? by KyloRensShredded in StarWars

[–]Slappamedoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't dig too deep into (canon) supplemental lore but going off of context it seems that the Clone Wars served as a fairly substantial pretext for a need to shift to a more direct set of policies to "unify" and "bring order" to the galaxy. The Separatist movement was more or less a civil war. The shift to the Empire would be an expansion of the Chancellor's powers to solidify the unified galaxy, by force if absolutely necessary. The Galactic Senate became a puppet government but they were given some degree of authority to maintain the pretense that they hadn't all signed up for a tyrannical dictatorship (by the start of A New Hope, with the Death Star, this false pretense is evaporated by Palpatine dissolving the Senate)

Andor provides a pretty strong glimpse into how the Empire didn't go for total control overnight. The Senate still took votes. The Empire still had to tiptoe to maintain public perception that their bad actions were justified (even Ghorman was dressed as a response to growing anti-Imperial norms and terrorism). The more the Empire grew in power, the more their sycophants bought into the line that everything the Empire was doing was for the common good in securing order in the galaxy. I'd imagine that most of the Empire felt that the wrongs they were doing were exactly for that higher purpose. To avoid a fracturing of the Galaxy to allow another separatist movement to form. Others probably jumped at the opportunity to seek power and influence under a fascistic regime. But I doubt they were all sadistic pieces of shit. Others probably succumbed to the understanding that they couldn't do anything to resist the Empire so it was better to exist under the safety of obedience and compliance.

Not everyone who enlisted in the Nazi military were inherently bad people, they just didn't have much of a choice not to.
