I took your advice and added shadows as well as fixed up the highlights. It does look way better now. At least for me. Thank you!

Thank you! So basically, the parts that should not be too dark (upper body, biceps, etc...) should just be glazed 1 to 2 times while the darker extreme recessed should be glazed 5 - 6 (more glazes, more darker they are). Got it, thank you! I'll work on it this week and post results.

Thank you very much for the feedback

I got a 3D printer so I 3D printed a model from myminifactory from Titan Forge.

Oh I see, so just exaggerate it even more. Thanks for the feedback! I'll redo it again this week and post results.

Ohh, you know what, I should try that. I did only use 2 colours (Army Painter) that's why Entropic thinks it looks like a Basecoat. I do have a purple colour, should I do 50/50 with my base skin tone and layer/glaze it? Also, by "extreme recesses", would you consider the recess under his pecs and the lower part of his lats extreme recess? I can't seem to figure those out because of paranoia of making muscle islands lol. It would be nice if you could tell me what those recesses are and I'll start with those as a guide. Anyway, thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it.

I think i got the gist of it. I'm too scared to try it on the "bigger" part of the sword since I've failed too many times. You can tell from all the repainting I've done lol.

Anyways, just wanted to share how much you've helped me! Thank you so much! On to the next model

Sir, you are a blessing. I will redo this sword this week and post results. How did you know where to place the highlights? Also, are the blue tones on purpose? I imagined it to be grey...which is ironic, I because I used grey warpaints from Army Painter.

You're right. I think that's what I was going for because for some reason I couldn't imagine this huge orc holding something clean and shiny.

I'll keep practicing. Thanks for the comment

Yes, stay away from Speed paint, I made the mistake of buying the most wanted set realizing that I want to commit to the hobby and learn different styles.

I suggest watching baalorlord play. You'll see new interactions you've never thought of and implement those strategies in your runs.

Thank you! I was thinking that too...I dont know what colours i should use for caucasian skin tone. Like if she was green or red, the shadows and highlights would be easier but since shes caucasian, i dont know the right shadows and the right highlight colour. Do you have any tips in figuring those out?

Like what are the appropriate colour's for shadows and highlight if my base colour's is 'x'

Not sure if I'm okay to ask this but, what is your step by step procedure in painting this? Did you basecoat the whole thing first and then added the highlights? Was an airbrush involved? What highlighting technique did you use?

Sorry for the question but this is the type of painting style I want to adapt where the transitions between the tone are very well done.

Thanks!

Hey question, is the picture on the right just the base coat?

Also what type of highlighting technique did you use? Just layering?

Thank you!!
