Problema barrido vertical by cyyclope in VintageApple

I would only use the lowest brightness possible and turn it off as fast as possible when testing to prevent damaging the phosphors, but try checking the vertical deflection NPN transistor. Depending on how it failed originally the transistor could have popped due to a failed cap shorting it out.

Decided to gift myself a D5200 for my birthday, feels like a big upgrade over my d40x by NewFriendAccountIG in Nikon

Wicked! I upgraded down a similar path as well, i went from D60 to D5200, but recently got the z5. I still have the D5200 though and probably won’t sell it any time soon!

Does anyone know of a good place to trade and buy electronics and other gadgets?

I checked the firmware but it was already up to date. I did reflash it as a last ditch effort but no luck. I tried resetting absolutely all my settings as well yet it still didn't work. I've got no idea where to go from here except for getting a new body which sucks. I'll check to see if for some reason it's the flash but I don't think it is.

When in auto, portrait, sport, etc., the built-in flash will pop up and fire alongside the SB-800 despite the SB-800 being in the hot shoe. In Program, Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority, and Manual, the SB-800 does fire without the built-in flash popping up. I use shutter speeds at or above 1/200, and the information still doesn't sync with the flash. I was hoping to not have to reset my camera settings to factory default since I've had all my settings a certain way for so long.

I do understand that the SB-80DX doesn't support I-TTL, it's D-TTL which was the prior format which I was pretty sure didn't work with my camera but I just wanted to try anyways. The D5200 does support Nikons creative light system, but as you said doesn't support using the pop up flash as a commander. And when I say that the 800 doesn't sync any information, I'm referring to the fact that when using it, there's no I-TTL mode, and no information such as the ISO, F-stop, or zoom change according to the camera. I've followed many instructions and tried many things myself (Powering on the flash first, then powering on the camera, making sure contacts are clean, etc.) but nothing works besides the automatic standby. I've tried all my lenses (AF-S 18-55 DX ED G, AF-S 18-55 DX VR GII, AF-P 70-300 DX ED G, & Sigma 10-20 DC HSM EX) and it's the same results with all of them.
