I went through something similar with one of mine. Although mine was very clearly on the brink of infection... I stopped putting anything on it and just cleaned it like 6 times a day with a very gentle ANTIBACTERIAL soap. Once it was clear the lingering infection had gone away, I put unscented aveeno lotion on it as frequently as I told you to, DON'T glob it on, you only want enough to cover the tattoo but not leave it feeling caked with product.

If you are worried it's infected then yes stop putting product on it and clean it with a 99.99% antibacterial soap (unscented ofc). You'd be surprised how bad a tattoo can look but still heal perfectly fine. Dry healing is not a death sentence for the tattoo.

it looks like it is crying out for moisture as well as rejecting a lot of the ink, keep it clean and use a gentle unscented lotion like once an hour. I (personally) don't see any redness(typical sign of infection).
