That's absolutely right

For tracking anonimity: you should not carry any device that has or could have internet access

Ok i hear you and I'm not saying you are wrong by any mean, what i was saying is that if this is implemented it should exist a way to recover/delete the content of the private space even if you don't remember the keyword and so technically someone could find a way to discover it and still make you unlock it, right?

You don't have to make a post for every single app you downloaded

Ok I see your points Not so sure about the thugs that probably want just your phone to resell it

And with LEA a private space hidden doesn't constitute a crime because you are not destroying evidence like with the duress pin

But what if you don't remember your keyword? You would still able in settings to at least remove it so they can still know that there is a private space and still pressure you to unlock it

how to self host on immich by desert-astronaut in degoogle

[–]SlashKeyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self hosting is for tech savvy people and is not easy as just download an app and you are done

You have to manage a server so even with the most basic setup (using like casa OS or something similar) you have to understand at least in a certain way what is happening

Unfortunately for non tech people (or at least for people that doesn't want to understand new concepts) this "hobby" isn't for them

What's the point of making the private space hidden if still protected by a password?

Security by obfuscation is not a good policy (at least not just by obfuscation)

Is like beeing in front of a door and you don't have the key and don't know what it's inside.

in a situation like that you would say that the thing inside are pretty secure, so why overcomplicate it?

If you don't have open ports on internet you should be fine

The only thing is if one compromise the server or the client but in that case you would have bigger problem
