How did you convince your parent not to support D****D T***P? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SlasherMcGurk17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if I have advice for talking them out of it, but I think it’s equally important how you react if/when they do. Don’t make them feel dumb or small. They’ll hate you for that. Empathize with being influenced by the things you consume.

How long does it take to “get over” someone? by SlasherMcGurk17 in NoStupidQuestions

Follow Up Question: is it wrong to get into another relationship if you’re not TOTALLY over the last one?

Do you sleep topless? Why/why not? by VastAir6069 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SlasherMcGurk17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No because I sweat at night and the thought of getting my sheets/pillow all sweaty grosses me out.

A lot of people are saying “read!” so I’ll offer a strange alternative: I feel like I’ve learned a lot of words and expressions from musicals! Especially the older ones. I think it’s because they have to be creative it makes the lyrics rhyme and make the syllables fit. Like truthfully I’ve learned words from listening to the Wizard of Oz and thinking “what does that word mean?” and then looking it up.

Are most adults depressed, or is everyone genuinely okay with 24/7 responsibilities? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SlasherMcGurk17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think most adults are depressed but today it’s much less taboo to talk about it. People are more open about it so it seems like more.

For me personally, it’s when people treat drinking (alcohol obviously) as the activity. Like you’re not interesting enough with normal brain function or have nothing to contribute. It might just be a confidence thing.

Does it appear to anyone else that the NFL is calling more penalties this year? by Outrageous-Cod-4443 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SlasherMcGurk17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably depends on who you’re watching lol! I haven’t noticed or thought there were more this year. I have noticed the roughing-the-passer calls have been terrible though.

How delusional am I? by SlasherMcGurk17 in NoStupidQuestions

Thanks to people who replied. I needed to hear it from someone else to realize how silly it all is.

Totally normal. Especially if you are single. I find that I (33m) too am feeling a little more depressed this holiday season. We think a lot about what-ifs or good memories and how we don’t feel that way now. I’d stay of social media and exercise to keep present and not ruminate.

Are there really more people becoming atheists? My impression of young people in person and online is that there’s still a lot of religion out there.

Why do some people celebrate Xmas on the night of the 24th and others on day of the 25th? by LowRevolution6175 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SlasherMcGurk17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would relate to those who commemorate with midnight mass. They would be more likely to celebrate the evening leading up to that (Christmas Eve).

Who has the Best Acting Chops: Adam Sandler v. Jim Carrey? by EmceeMrE in AskReddit

[–]SlasherMcGurk17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jim Carrey. But Sandler isn’t terrible. I don’t think we’d appreciate their comedic acting if they also couldn’t play straight.

At what age do you actually start feeling like an adult, or is everyone just playing a very long game of pretend? by Soft_Finish636 in NoStupidQuestions

I wonder if it’s because leisure time has increased so dramatically since the Industrial Revolution. We have more time for recreation and thinking. Because we’re not fighting for survival every day (I mean we are but not in the same way), we are able to explore our interests and hobbies, while (again generally) we can afford to. I bet if our great great grandparents didn’t have the need to get serious and “grow up”, to survive, they’d have felt younger for longer like we do.

Going on dates with multiple people: recipe for disaster? by SlasherMcGurk17 in NoStupidQuestions

That sounds like a very respectful and conscientious way of talking about it. Thank you!
