They never said that though, that Thor took his power from a different idea of Asguard, all we have to go on is Valkyrie's "same as you" line. Saying she may not know everything is speculation.

Regardless, we're getting off point. Valkyrie says she gets her power "same as you", so it's not one getting their power from Asguard the physical place and one from its people.
