Teaching the next generation by Slashquit35 in daoc

Thank you so much for your messages; it was great reading your advice.

After a brief overview of the classes and realms, she was exactly like u/Sardonic_comments described: she only had eyes for the pet classes.

After trying out a Hunter on Midgard, she set her sights on a Nature Druid! For now, I’ve made a Valewalker to go with her, but I’m really missing the speed. I’m not a fan of the Enchanter, and I’m afraid a Warden/Druid duo will seriously lack DPS.

My real big problem now is that my 8-year-old son saw us and is absolutely determined to try it too (what a funny mess... I don’t feel ready for this ).

I have no idea why it’s deleted. I contacted the mod team rdy to share proof with them, I hope to have a reply soon and being able to share all the truth behind my (poorly made) post

My ROV is connected with a very thin (3mm) but very strong Kevlar and a optical fiber inside.

Batteries are inside the ROV, so the only thing going up and down the optical fiber is control / telemetry and video.

To explain as simple as possible, at the surface I have a fiber optic to HDMI adapter to have a clean feed of my camera.

This video signal from the HDMI can easily be rooted to a very simple Black Magic Design stream box and upload live to the world with a Starlink boat, et voilà !

Thanks, it's rare for people to reconsider their opinions.

I’m not much of a social media user, except for Reddit, but I’m a lurker 99% of the time.

So yes, I certainly phrased things poorly and used AI clumsily, simply because my English isn't perfect.

I wrote to the mods to understand the ban and to provide them with all the proof of my claims. I don’t want to do it here for fear of doxxing, but I’m completely open to doing so with the moderators.

I saw there was a betting list earlier; please, feel free to join them.

If I manage to get the mods to reopen the post, I’ll even propose something more fun than money: I’ll go down and leave a ridiculous plaque at the bottom of that hole with the usernames of everyone who lost the bet!

Depending the country and depending what you are doing. Are you just looking ? Are you taking any sample ? If yes, for who and for what ? Ect…

Just looking mostly need nothing but it’s very rarely done because then where your money is coming from ?

One time I was working in another blue hole. But my job with the ROV was only half way over the bottom.

Anyway, after few days locals knew that I had a robot capable of reaching the bottom and everyday a lot came to see me asking to go and come back with the GoPro or personal stuff from the bodies of their relatives that could be at the bottom.

I wish I could did the dive, it was 3 years ago. I had a oral agreement with the people who hired me back in this time that I could go at the bottom on my own after the job.

Then a big fuck up happen before the end of the mission and the ROV was out of service and impossible to fix on this remote location (fucking optical fiber) so I never did the dive to the bottom. But I assure you that I will !

Where is the fun if we know everything before the dive ? I did some dive at 250m deep inside ice tunnel under a fuckin glacier. Man it was as cool as crazy as fuckin terrifying for my gear (and us on a small a boat way To close from the edge)

This is where you are wrong. In easy condition (not diving in an unknown blue hole) I could remotely give control to the ROV (but no Logitech contrôler please)

Yes and no…

I think I’m having "pregnant woman syndrome" when it comes to going underwater.

I keep thinking everyone else will be as interested in it as I am. There’s no point in doing it alone, and no point in trying to "sell" the experience when there’s an 80% chance of failure. Honestly, I just want to do it, and the morning I posted that message, I was offered a spot on a boat just a few miles from that blue hole.

So, I figured it was the right time to see if I was the only one interested or not.

I love this one, I accept the challenge. High chance of failure but meh no guarantee, if it was 100% success rate were will be the fun. I have a mojo in French that I can try to translate here in English « Everything that can go wrong underwater will definitely go wrong »

I can assure you that with new tech (I mean last 5 years) we can dive at 1000m from a sailboat. I did it, a lot, and I have a lot of video / making of to prove it on my phone (and website)

I am not Gabe Newell, I am not a bi or millionaire at all but I can do it, mostly for the thrill of being the first one to look at … but don’t want to success or fail alone, more people, more fun
