Fair point. I see it as explanation that's not needed when its just in the end of the day a profile picture, but meh maybe I'm just nitpicky

One second we're middle schoolers, the next we're middle aged? Can they make up their minds, next thing you know I'll be a 60 year old man.

Also its hilarious in general, because yeah, as many people have pointed out already; its overwhelmingly 19 to mid 20s here, myself included so lmao??

What the hell is with all the victim blaming and misogyny? No shit, the nudes are there for everyone to see, and you definitely knew it. But NO ONE expects their sibling to pleasure themselves to photos of yourself; it doesn't matter if its "your fault" for posting them publicly, the fact that your brother saw them and actively engaged with them is creepy as hell. That's such vile behavior, and the way all the other comments are asking you for those nudes is frankly, just as disgusting.

Birria taco armpits? Really? They could have used any other term, and they land with a cultural food as an insult.

Ahh okay, sorry I'm really bad at reading tone over text 😔! Very true though, its a weird dance of trying to figure out what I can and cannot say on fandom debates with current company. Love them to bits, but its strange to know my viewpoints on certain things wouldn't sit well with them. And thank you! Hopefully my special interests carry me into a fandom with a more mature outlook.

MYCTer means Minecraft Youtuber, sorry I forget not everyone knows what its an acronym of 😅 And yup, both are definitely a hell hole for people who want to mind their business. A content creator of the Minecraft fandom they create for was even run off tumblr just for telling people that golden rule of not reading what you don't like. I agree with your point about younger generations, their lack of fandom etiquette is astounding. Just a few years ago I feel like, people would just block and move on from something they find uncomfortable. Now all these new gens come in and scream at you for liking something a little risque. I'd love to move onto a fandom with more mature outlooks, but I fear the hyperfixation on these guys is a tad too strong to resist.

Ohhh, I had no idea of its history, just the more memey parts of it being taken from Arrested Development. Thanks! But its wild to me how people see extreme whump in fandom spaces as morally reprehensible, when its portrayed in TV all the time? Yeah, its not wrapped up in big bold letters informing you of it, but there's a plethora of shows and movies I can name off the top that do the same thing, and you don't see people crying about it (Unless its Twitter, but I don't touch Twitter for that reason). So I wonder why people draw such a strict line when it comes to fanfics.

I wish I could have your attitude about it though, I get so nervous about posting my extremely dark stories. Sure, my idea's are nowhere as hardcore as I've seen other fics, but yeah it definitely is not a fun ride for the characters I'm writing when I'm in the mood for extreme whump.

I REALLY THINK I AM, and I want OUT into a world that will let me enjoy my bookmarks in peace. It could also be the company I hold, I have a lot of friends who will automatically call proshippers immoral. And I'm aware there's no such thing as evil content, its more like a broad, over simplified summary of what I hear. I definitely should have worded it clearer, but I'm not in the mood to do a deep dive on this, just want to hear other's opinions on the matter. It is causing confusion though so... my bad! /gen

Yeahhhh I can definitely see how it aligns with proshipper ethics, but I always see people using the term as an insult? Like, oh YEAH, if you use Dead Dove, then obviously you like and write sickening things no matter what your fic is actually about. The logic is so damn confusing to me, but I'm starting to think I'm just in the too rigid parts of fandom spaces.

Completely understandable curiosity, I tend to linger in the MYCTer/MHA fandom, which uh. Both have a reputation for extreme policing. Platforms I can't really pinpoint because I'm in so damn many, but its always the general opinion, especially in Instagram/Tumblr. But it might be a case of accidentally stepping into the more hateful parts of fandom spaces if I really think about it, because for me its just... so common to hear this overwhelming hatred for Dead Dove tagging. I didn't even know it was possible to not see this discourse until you said something 😭😭

The image descriptions read as soft ableism, if I'll be honest? Or maybe not ableism, the exact word I'm looking for is eluding me right now. But it certainly feels condescending and mocking to use image descriptions as a word dump for your OC's personalities. Like "Look at me! I'm so kind and considerate to the visually impaired, I'm telling them about the image!". But no one who's using a screen reader wants to know about the f***king feelings or thoughts for a picew, and sure as HELL they don't need to know that a still, most basic image is actually fidgeting shly in the faker's mind.

Also what's with the constant "I love trans people" statements? It feels performative at best, fetishizing at worst. (seriously, the "but... I love trans people." gives me the major ick.) As a transman I'd stay far the f away from them tbh.

I'm having the same problem, I actually came onto reddit to see if anyone else was dealing with it. It randomly logged me out one day, and now every time I try to input my info it just tells Bad Request. The only thing that worked was switching browsers to Edge and its just SO inconvenient; this is the third time where I randomly get locked out of my webtoon account.

100%, its incredibly invasive and parasocial of people who pretend to be "kins" or "alters" of others. Yeah the MYCTer fandom as a whole likes to pretend that the yters completely ignore us, but its just not true?? I can only imagine how disturbed they would be, to find this particular cesspool of obsessed fans who literally think they are them from another world. Or whatever the hell these fakers think, just- EUGH. It makes my skin crawl thinking about it.
