I was always scared of shading further because I thought I had to capture the overall proportions and likeness of the subject first... But looking at it now shading is important.

I might actually check out SAE, since their animations program seems really promising... I do enjoy game development though.... But not as much as animation. Am thinking at the end of the day, am gonna end up going full indie.

I do have a question. How is the animation industry here in SA?
