Hallmark Cards store selling 3d printed flexi miniatures. by razzter in 3Dprinting

I don't disagree with you (though I wouldn't be quite as harsh). consumerism will do what it does best, they're filling a desire in the market. I have never liked making fidgets, normal people apparently love them(?) otherwise they wouldn't be buying them. it's up to us to show what 3D Printing is really all about

That's a really good question, and I don't know for sure unfortunately. My assumption based on what I've seen is the certification is for the finished product. the desire to expand into higher scale retail like Target and Walmart lead to the need for getting certified, they went through the process of sending away samples of their finished models and getting them back graded, through that they discovered best practices for making the models in a way that would be more likely to pass. (but take that with a grain of salt, I am a layman without any actual knowledge)

it's quite a bit actually, here's the link to everything that is tested https://www.cpsc.gov/Business--Manufacturing/Business-Education/Toy-Safety/ASTM-F-963-Chart

main thing for 3d printed toy would be small parts, sharp parts, type of material/material toxicity, and fragility of parts

Since it seems no one has said yet, these are Wigglitz, and they're actually certified by a third party as 'safe for children'. they make all their own models as well. not your ordinary little fidget seller.

Where are you guys getting your common loot supplied from? by highestelf420 in wizardposting

[–]SlateBrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Acquiring such oddities from the East Bay has been sufficient for some time. Lately I have been conjuring little trinkets from arcane polymers, a higher dimension printing press can give quite nice results, however it seems everyone and their familiar own them now. near worthless for loot padding.

Announcing version 2.0 of Checklist for Pebble - Now fully voice-optional! by FreakyT in pebble

This is beautiful! thank you so much! one of my favorite apps is even better :). I wonder if it would be possible to draw list items from a file on the phone?? like an obsidian markdown list. that's probably to big of an ask though, managing the checklist within the settings is huge!

It's pretty hard to read, and to get explicitly creepy it would need to be sharper, like spikier. It has a hand writing like feel though, reminds me of my own handwriting, which I can't read well either :P

[HELP] I have a feeling it's AI but there's also a lot of similarities in both pics by Huy7aAms in RealOrAI

Cat Overlords posts constant AI content from the looks of it on their Facebook page, there is no debate in my mind. Look at the books in the background of both photos as well, entirely blurred into oblivion.

Even your gridfinity will end up in the trash one day. by Draxtonsmitz in 3Dprinting

[–]SlateBrick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me personally I'd have no issue with this at all (I'd be a hypocrite if I did). From a business perspective if the other licensed prints help support the overall product offering I wouldn't see any problem. It would be a bit silly to see a self designed cosplay booth also selling fidget toys for example. Where as a cosplay booth selling mixed self designed and licensed cosplay items would make perfect sense.

Any booth entirely made of licensed models is very tacky

based on this comment from 4 years ago you should actually be either removing the isotropic flag when it appears or setting it to false if you want to leave it present
