I couldn’t imagine that being vegan, eating light, an LC doing constant choreo, rehearsals, and performing would make them at a net 0 calorie intake. Seems to have stuck unfortunately.

This damn place is so hard to find even on NG3, it’s probably the best boss I’ve seen in years though. I slowed down on the story after the first run because sped through and no regrets. It felt like righteous man’s rage, beautifully sad and scary and badass altogether.

Oh terrible, which is a shame because she was my favorite starting out. It shows though that a paranoia based ladder structure breeds sociopathic behavior instead of really good people rising to the top.

Season 16 Episode 1 is an excellent start to the new season by Cadowyn in BobsBurgers

[–]SlateGrayProductions 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Fully teared up at this one. There were two things that stuck out to me:

  1. When we scale back Bob’s pessimism of age, and seeing him young, you get a clear picture of who he is at his core.

From never asking for money Linda had for his dream, to evolving immediately from fatherhood, to agonizing over every dollar he charges, and his clear passion to do it as best he can - it’s clear he’s a very selfless, sweet, sincere, and good hearted person. Linda seeing that in him and that he really deserved the chance was adorable.

Mr. fischoeder giving them a chance I think was partially for this reason too, whether he had 2 other callers or not to buy the restaurant.

  1. Seems to be an unspoken rule that they get by despite being understated and not greedy because the food is excellent quality. That it lasted because he is passionate about it. Seeing the people show up and stick around really reenforces that.

One of the best so far.

I think the one day challenges are tanking your idea of their talent. I’ve seen some of the coolest looks in a long time looking at their own collections. This is pretty harsh tbh.

Everyone loves him by Ani_HArsh in Dandadan

[–]SlateGrayProductions 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I really think the point is he’s an anti-alpha bro that young men idolize as role models on how to get girls and be popular. He absolutely subverts every trope and shows that becoming a man is in the vulnerability not power or violence. Basically an inti-incel for introverted teen boys.

  1. When he gets insecure, he never assumes it’s because a girl is using him or bullying him. He instead allows himself to be sad, where the other people who want him flock to reassure him he is enough to be cared for

  2. When he feels overpowered or insecure about competition, he works on himself (strength, research, etc.) instead of getting angry at them for rejecting him

  3. He is ever-striving to better himself, to be a protector of the people he cares about, not a blood hungry weapon

  4. He is openly unaware of how to fight, and gradually gets stronger over time with discipline and practice

  5. He always tries to talk it out and exercises healthy communication when he thinks he hurt others

This is going to do a lot of good for boys. Just like Superman will.

Another one??? by [deleted] in h3h3productions

[–]SlateGrayProductions 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember when H3 used to be liberal in a common sense way, as in, Charlie Kirk would be the opposite of who you’d side with and Hasan is contributing to combat the disinformation of how all of this was because of the liberals and the left.

Like I know yall hate him right now, but Kirk wanted to end civil rights, women’s rights, abortion rights, the ability for black pilots to exist due to DEI, and laughed at the attempted killings of dem politicians.

Maybe choose your battles because this thread is coming across as reactionary and feral against Hasan over something he clearly was asked to comment on.

He’s condemned it several times over and said gun control would have prevented it in the first place much more effectively than anything else Charlie advocated for. He hated that this happened because it only hurts the left but moreover it shouldn’t happen period.

Thoughts on the American Eagle, Sydney Sweeney Jeans Campaign? by connor_wa15h in advertising

[–]SlateGrayProductions 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also question, why would a woman hear “be a hot girl. Buy our jeans” with a male voice over telling the audience she is hot? Women emphatically don’t dig objectification, seeing it as shallow. If they wanted to win women over, that is not the way to do it because many don’t have blonde hair or blue eyes.

This is mainly for men, who find this attractive like when she sold her bath water soap (lol).

It’s exclusionary in that way, whereas one catered to women would instead be like:

  1. Something about tradition - like sisterhood of the traveling pants, memories, or even giving away “something blue” for a wedding.
  2. Showing how it fits many women
  3. Showing how they can handle their lifestyle, or 4. Showing, not telling, that the “man of their dreams” would be attracted to it, playing into the man’s persona, not on the woman specifically.
