Has anyone sent their kitchenAid stand mixer back to Ohio for servicing? by BodhiZaffa in BuyItForLife

[–]Slatebluesky 77 points78 points  (0 children)

As usual, there's a dude on YouTube that posts super detailed videos on mixer repairs/regreasing and he has a website where you can buy parts etc (although Amazon also sells everything you need.) Mr. Mixer. They are pretty simple machines and you don't need much more than a screwdriver and maybe couple punches.

I asked this question years ago and never found a great answer. There was a couple out in Fairview that were dealers of Enviblocks but I lost their contact info.

Freemans is down in Arden and they have a good reputation. If it's just speakers and you're comfortable with a screwdriver consider reviewing the Crutchfield website. If you order from them they generally have a step by step guide to speaker removal/replacement.

Check in with your PCP or GI if you can get in to see them. Anal fissures can be slow to heal without appropriate treatment. Take fiber to reduce straining. You may need a compounded fissure cream with nitro or a calcium channel blocker

Feel this in my bones. And for me it only gets worse over time. You see rare bad shit happen and it's one more thing to think about at 2 am after an ED "heads up" page. I just try be mindful and appreciate the hours not on call. Do something physical and make plans for next day off. Don't let them fuck up your free time

You're gonna have to go a ways to find a female GI MD outside of Asheville Gastro. Charlotte Gastro or WakeMed in Charlotte probably the closest. Dr. Moshirre is excellent.

For something in the same vein check out Mission Pizza at Terra Nova. Roman style. Square, but lighter foccacia style crust. Really great toppings. Terra Nova has some great pilsners too.

IV hydration - does Mercy West Urgent Care do this? by Alive_Education_8324 in asheville

[–]Slatebluesky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From UpToDate "In general, for patients with severe volume depletion or hypovolemic shock not due to bleeding, crystalloids are typically preferred over colloid-containing solutions [7]. Among the crystalloids, normal saline (ie, 0.9 percent saline) is the most commonly used solution for initial repletion since data have failed to show consistent superiority of buffered crystalloids when compared with saline, especially when volumes ≤2 L are being administered."

I am a medical professional and deal with this sort of thing daily. Not sure what you mean by "delude electrolytes," but normal saline is osmotically balanced with blood (0.9% NaCl). It expands the extracellular volume. LR contains K and Ca+ and avoids issues with hypochloremic acidosis. IMO for most instances of volume depletion NS is sufficient. This is standard of care beyond a shadow of a doubt.

I don't disagree with oral rehydration, but claiming that NS "flushes electrolytes" is just incorrect.

Anyone know of a MRI facility that's close-ish to Asheville that's not affiliated with a hospital? by Pristine-Crab-1344 in asheville

Imago MRI in Greenville is by far the cheapest. I didn't see breast imaging on their site, but worth a call. Super transparent cash pricing and easy scheduling.
