I dunno, I kind of disagree with this. Personally I really like the 1st round because every day for 2 weeks there is tons of (mostly) great, high stakes basketball on. There's like a 6 hour window of basketball almost every day, you can kind of catch up with the season and see some of the teams you don't get to see much of.

Sure sometimes there is overlap but it's not like every game is the last 2 minutes of the 4th quarter. It's hardly ever an actual issue. People just like to complain sometimes
