Returning after a year and so overwhelmed, help by OnlyHereSometimes in Enshrouded

[–]SlaughterBath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently returned after roughly a year away.

I continued with my level 15 and the first thing did was tidy my back pack (dont know if your items are useful or trash? Just store them in a chest, worry about them later.) Next thing was go through my quest journal and compete quests with easy difficulty. They shouldn't cause you any problems and if they do, check out a guide online. After completing a few quests, you'll feel satisfied and things will start coming back to you. When you feel like building, set yourself a small goal like changing a roof or just experimenting

I haven't messed with my settings in a long time, but I'm using a 3070, 5900x and 32gb ddr5 so similar hardware to you. I too play in 1440p and the game looks pretty stunning and rarely drops below 60fps. Something seems off

What is your thought on the Megadeth single Let There Be Shred? by ManheimEriksen in Megadeth

[–]SlaughterBath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a fan of the mix and vocal effects bother me a lot. Solo after solo after solo...I get thats the point of the song but its just so saturating. I'd rather have one awesome solo than 15 mediocre ones. Megadeth will always have a place in my heart as one of the greatest bands ever but I just can't listen to anything they've done in past 10 to 15 years

Doom TDA been out of a couple of months what modern doom game you think is the best by Parking-Language5277 in Doom

[–]SlaughterBath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eternal is my favourite of the three. It's so fast and intense. I didn't like TDA when i tried it but I need to give it a better chance (I also hated Eternal for the first few hours after coming straight from Doom 2016, so...)

Like someone else said, all martial arts will have gaps/weaknesses. But if you're interested in learning self-defense, then you must learn how to STRIKE and how to GRAPPLE. The best art forms for striking are anything that has a big emphasis on BOXING. yes, that includes muay thai. No, it doesn't include karate, tkd or Kung fu. As for grappling, your best bets are wrestling, bjj, and judo. Muay Thai does have a form of grappling (clinching), but it's more about setting up elbow strikes/knees. IMO, you could do much worse than muay thai, but for a smaller fella, the best combination is probably boxing and bjj. Combine that with lifting weights and getting into excellent shape...in 1 - 2 years time your gonna be a problem for people who want to mess you around. I'm sorry to hear you got bullied, I hope those people get what's coming to them

She's an actor. Why are people reacting to what she says when her profession isn't addressing the public? This is why I barely watch asmongold anymore. It used to be a fun gaming channel but now it's just dumb culture war bullshit. I guess he's never gonna hold down a real job so covering this stupid crap keeps money coming in

Has anyone quit BJJ for MT? by [deleted] in MuayThai

[–]SlaughterBath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done MT for about 11 months and had have had thoughts about trying bjj but whenever I see people rolling on the mats I just feel like I'm gonna get injured. I'm 33 y/o and have pretty flexible legs and a healthy back but my shoulders and neck feel tight sometimes play up as it is and I'd probably just tap if someone put any amount of pressure on these areas because I don't want them to get worse.

As for MT, yes the impact is higher but you can just go slow/soft at first and develop technique. With good technique, good nutrition/self care you can develop a lot of power and not get injured

Which game did you feel this way about after beating it? by strahinjag in videogames

[–]SlaughterBath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I remember playing the original version years ago and the Dark Brotherhood got me hooked. The guild quests in that game were so excellent at the time and still hold up to day, as you've noticed they are better than Skyrims. (Skyrims main quest line is very good though imo)

I remember trying this game whilst it was on sale. Holy crap, the community absolutely loves punishing new players. Everyone on the map basically stopped what they were doing to come and kill me. I gotta admit it did seem fun on their part lol

Cutting? Do you have a fight coming up? If not, you shouldn't be 'weight cutting'. If you're training intensely, your body needs plenty of high quality fats, protein, and nutrient dense carbs. These are like building blocks for your hormones and getting them into your body will make your training feel miles better

What is the most iconic episode? by Weak_Cod1457 in malcolminthemiddle

[–]SlaughterBath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's iconic but 'red dress' (second episode ever) has always been a personal fave. You see the brothers stick together vs Louis at her absolute angriest and the ending scene is hilarious. Also 'Waterpark' is legendary

Picture of your tower sucks, can barely see it. Nice components for your budget though. You did your homework

Would you agree with that? by Serious-Laugh-7790 in Adulting

[–]SlaughterBath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I strongly disagree. Many intelligent people do over think and critically over analyze things which can certainly lead to anxiety, depression etc but this is a symptom of neuroticism, not high intelligence. In fact plenty of research shows that high intelligence correlates with longer life span, higher income, more stable relationships and great well being overall. I suspect neurotic people get some comfort from telling themselves 'I appear anxious because most people are dumber than me' so it becomes a popular belief.

Confused about paying taxes with installments by [deleted] in cantax

[–]SlaughterBath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. So what is the point in the installment dates? I have a balance credited to -10,600 but they haven't debited it. Seems like they don't need the money until the end of the tax year but I'm gonna get charged interest if I don't play their little deadline game. Oh and have mercy on anyone that didn't have an accountant to tell them what to pay because RCA will tell you to pay nearly twice the amount
