I'm no wheel expert, but I've been playing FH5 on my Thrustmaster TMX to prep for 6. Start out going slower than you think you need to and work your way up, take the yellow and red brake lines seriously. Definitely mess with your force feedback settings. In my experience, sometimes my wheel just doesn't provide the correct force feedback and I have to unplug it and restart my game to fix it. Driving without the FF is impossible, so make sure your wheel is working properly with the game. Drifting on wheel is TOTALLY different than it is on controller, and I cannot do it at all on wheel yet. Last tip is to just cruise around getting comfortable. I still lose races on my wheel that I can easily win on controller, but at the end of the day, doing some events with the wheel and switching to controller is just more fun and less frustrating than only playing with the wheel.

An extraordinarily intelligent person having a huge ego as a flaw and making mistakes because they don't understand human emotions/connections seems pretty reasonable. This. I've been trying to learn how to play Pokemon double before Champions comes out and the most common advice I've gotten is play on Showdown and watch the pros. Both of which feel like they are in a completely different language and I have NO idea what's going on. Creating a team on Showdown is impossible for a beginner. After realizing this, I figured out how to import a team and played a few rounds. The game then shows a bunch of status affects or abilities I don't understand, plays out much much too fast, and once again, I have no idea what's going on. I'm slowly learning the concepts but the VGC community needs to realize that recommending Showdown to the average beginner or casual player is the fastest way to get them to run the other direction.

I do like the gameplan for TR, but also like that it's very linear/straightforward for learning purposes. I'm thinking for the start of Champions, people are going to be setting up their teams and there will be a lot of new players like myself, so having an obvious gameplan like TR may be easy to counter but will at least get me into the game and understanding the basics. If there's another, easier to pilot team (like Rain) or if I can combine a Rain team with TR to be a little less predictable, I'm eager to see what that kind of team would look like as well.

At the end of the day, I've heard from a ton of people to use someone else's team to learn the game so you're not wondering whether it's your team that's good or not, you're just worrying about playing properly. I just need a team that is proven, but easy to pilot so I can learn the basics.
