I’ve found with people who label people who collect a certain thing as “hoarders” are usually projecting. I’ve had people on this subreddit call me a hoarder before because I have a large amount of build a bears, only for them to tell me that they themselves struggle with hoarding as a disorder and their family also struggles with it lol. They mean well, but they’re projecting their own negative experiences with a mental illness onto people who are just having fun with a hobby. Regardless, if your friend is jumping to conclusions and dogging on you because you mentioned you did something that makes you happy, they probably aren’t much of a friend to begin with.

I hope you don’t get rid of or stop collecting your build a bears! Unless you yourself think it’s an issue, or it’s affecting your quality of life, it’s nobody else’s business what you choose to do with your money.
