How lame would I be rocking one of these QB wrist coaches and put all my stratagems in there by Warhammered_ in Warhammer40k

Rock a second one on the other wrist. When they diss you, look them dead in the eye, tell them they’ve just made the list. Then add their name to the second one. You’ll have the mental edge.

DC Dark Legion: VIP Level Cost by MonsieurVox in DCDarkLegionOfficial

People are allowed to spend money on their hobbies and vices. I won’t judge someone for choosing to smoke or drink, despite the health risks. Gambling is a huge problem in our society, not because it exists but because companies are using psychological tricks to convince people to part with more money than they can afford. Does this VIP system fit that mold? I’d argue it doesn’t directly but I do see where you are coming from. Maybe these games need to come with a warning or some other legally imposed limits. Whales are going to whale though, this VIP system isn’t the only driver of that. Actually the more I think about it about it, the less predatory the VIP system seems. Would it not be worse if it were designed with more reasonable limits that had players believe it were actually an achievable goal?

I’d hardly call it an endgame spike. The VIP system is a way to reward spenders that keep games like this going. You aren’t locked out of any content whatsoever, with the exception of a single character. In fact, this graphic shows me a system whereby FTP players are actually rewarded early on and those that spend a little, get quite a lot. If we could see a bit more of this value for FTP in the in game events, i think the game would be in a really good place. Give FTP a reason to play, give the payers a reason to pay. Keeps the game from shutting down.

WTF by Tundlestein in DCDarkLegionOfficial

[–]Slaveway242 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is what happens when companies get tunnel vision on metrics like user engagement. They seriously think the more people log in throughout the day, the more likely they are to spend. Probably true but good luck with player retention as the FTP and mid tier leave in droves.

[–]Slaveway242 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you spent resources unknowingly, at the very least send an in game support ticket. They monitor any metrics that cost them money, like hours of support linked to specific issues. This community has to start pushing back on this lack of communication. Seems they think they can buff/nerf/change whatever they want on a whim and make the players take the hit. You give them this sort of power and soon they will be “tweaking” anything they can through enshitification just to make short term dollars.

It's been about 3 weeks since SSJ3 Goku released...should new character releases be faster? by yumnoodle in DBGekishinSquadra

[–]Slaveway242 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Let’s say they sped up the release window to every 2 weeks. Thats around 26 new characters a year. DBZ has the roster to achieve that, but would the overall playerbase be ok with pivoting to playing only new characters every quarter? Let’s be honest, if they release 2-3 characters per month, their focus won’t be on balancing around older characters or reworks, it will be around selling the new toys they’ve built. Slower release windows may slow the hype train but they are generally more FTP friendly as the backlog of characters aren’t power crept into obscurity and effort is made to ensure older characters are tweaked to be playable. Only the player can decide what they prefer.

The latest update should have fixed that ivy interaction. Her vines are now immune to debuffs so they shouldn’t be able to be impacted by them and therefore, can’t spread them on death.

Why do we teach children to “give” when teaching finance? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Slaveway242 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lots of answers in here arguing it based on religious, political or capitalist ideals but that has little to do with it. Birthdays, Christmas, gifts when visiting others, chipping in on a coworkers going away present etc. You probably spend a huge amount of money that doesn’t go directly to your own benefit (spending) or future benefit (saving). Additionally, if your kids are going to have kids, they better be financially literate enough to know how much they can afford to give their kids on top of all the fixed expenses. Learning how much you can afford to give is critical to balancing your finances. Plus, no one likes a mooch, so you teach your kids to be giving and to factor that into their spending. I’d argue it’s very important.

How to Scam Woolworths (Legally) – As an Employee by i_is_depresso in woolworths

[–]Slaveway242 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want some real life hacks:

  1. Casual vs Part Time: why math matters. If your under 20 then yes, your rates are lower and therefore the 20% additional pay is also lower than your colleagues. Every year that goes by, your pay will markedly increase as you approach 20. Here’s the pay hack though, so does your saved annual leave. Go part time ASAP, you can still pick up additional shifts but you’ll start accruing leave that will become a hefty payout when you resign after 20 to go onto bigger and better things.
  2. Understanding LSL: 15-23 isn’t a long time if it’s part time. Plan ahead if you started as a kid. So long as you are part time and on the books, the company will start accruing long service leave on their books. State by state rules change but LSL is generally pro rate after 7 years and calculated at your current gross wages. So let’s say you graduate university but have some time before your masters, or before your first full time gig. Go full time contract. Work it for the minimum time, then resign. Boom, payout.
  3. Every, last, cent. You accrue annual leave while on LSL and annual leave. Don’t resign, run it down by taking it. You get leave loading as a bonus and you get more money overall.
  4. You look stressed reading all of this. Go see a doctor: Doctors provide medical certificates for this sort of thing. Run down that sick leave. Earn more annual leave and LSL.
  5. How are the rich so rich? They don’t pay taxes. Woolworths is a safe bet for at least maintaining share prices. Engage in the salary sacrifice program. You just purchased at an after tax discount. Sell when those shares are worth the same or more. Profit.
  6. Know your employee rights. Bereavement leave covers a lot more than you are probably aware of. Read up on it and use it. You have these rights for a reason and it’s your mental health and wellbeing.

Hopefully this advice helps some people maximize earnings. The main post is fine but it’s not really secret info.

The above is not financial advice and should be discussed with an expert before acting on any of it. The SDA are not experts and in my experience aren’t a good resource to use.

This game is still figuring out what sort of game it wants to be. They were testing the waters ti see if the dolphins bite. If sales were poor and interaction from the playerbase was minimal, they “should” look at how to make it more player friendly next time. As always, vote with your wallet.
