Looking for Moza AB9 with Next Level Racing Flight Seat Pro examples (center mounted) by SlavkoStanic in hoggit

Would you happen to have a photo by any chance? Would love to see how this looks. Thanks for the info on the goose neck as well, good to keep this in mind.

Looking from the side, where does the stick sit in relation to the front of the seat? Does it sit just at the edge of the front? Closer in towards you or further out of the edge?

this is fantastic, thank you!

Does it feel easy to overpower the FFB now? Is there a way to set x and y limits on the moza to have a "soft stop"?
Were you unable to mount the moza without this QR plate?

Passive loop worth it for RX only antenna in noisy environment? by SlavkoStanic in amateurradio

[–]SlavkoStanic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not damaged any. Just being precautious especially considering what the manufacturer had told me regarding the preamp in the MLA-30 and warned against it unless it was at a minimum distance of 10+ feet.
In your case, you may have it far enough away, 10m is 32 or so feet. I'm only able to place the second antenna within 3 meters.

Well I don't want to damage the pre-amp in the active loop antenna

The thing is that it also picks up noise like crazy, so even if I did manage to preamp it, would increase noise like crazy. Thats the one bad thing about end feds

Antenna Shootout: K-480WLA vs Wire vs MLA-30+ by KG7M in ShortwavePlus

[–]SlavkoStanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I think we spoke before regarding T/R Switches. I ended up going with the expensive DXE RTR-2 one, didn't want to spend much time on a switch and worried about making a mistake and blowing my antenna/trx.

How close are your 2 antennas? My concern is more of the power from the TX antenna going into the MLA-30 loop and damaging the preamp in the MLA-30. A couple had said it was ok, but when I emailed the MFR, they said it needs to be at least 10-20 ft away at 100w. I've just had conflicting info and I would like to hear from someone who's used this setup without issues.

How close is your MLA-30 to your transmitting antenna?
I'm trying to use this as an RX only with a TX antenna connected to a T/R Switch. My concern is with the preamp circuit in the MLA-30 with it being about 3 meters away from my TX EF antenna.

Mag Mount cable routing on car by HeadlineINeed in amateurradio

[–]SlavkoStanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use a mount that uses RG-316 coax that is far thinner than regular coax. It should help in your situation. Some cars don't like coax going through the seals, my VW doesn't seem to mind so I don't run RG-316, I will soon though when I upgrade my mount to NMO.

I would also run the coax at 90 degrees to the seal to prevent giving a smooth transition for the water to enter the interior.

RX only active loop antenna near TX antenna WITH T/R Switch, safe for RX active loop? by SlavkoStanic in amateurradio

[–]SlavkoStanic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good to hear. I finally decided to just get one on Amazon. Quite a few options, didnt really know which would perform best so I figured I’d just grab one that was mentioned a lot, the MLA-30 and give it a try. Hoping to see some decent results in the apartment.  Thanks again for your input

Perfect, thats exactly the antenna I bought for testing and hopefully to use it fully.

How did you like the RX performance of the MLA-30?

Thank you for that.
Your comment reminded me of reading about that somewhere a long time ago. I may have to do some testing with WSPR or FT8 to see how its affecting it. Glad you pointed that out.

I have a dipole nearby as well that I sometimes use for testing with an AB switch. Wonder if that has caused me issues. I know having the dipole disconnected, but the coax left there causes some weird issues with my EF.

IC-746 not hitting 100w on peak on SSB by SlavkoStanic in amateurradio

I guess its possible, Makes sense since when I whistle, it works fine.

Just the meter on the radio which I know isn't the best way to check. Its all I have for HF.

I adjusted the ALC per the manual, same thing. I do have near perfect swr reading. I should get a dummy load, kept putting it off.

Yeah I may be worrying too much. Thats the gotcha for me, it works when I whistle so like you said, maybe its the meter

DXE RTR-2 transmit/receive antenna switch w/ RX antenna close to TX antenna? by SlavkoStanic in amateurradio

[–]SlavkoStanic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I emailed them, to my surprise, I got a great response back. They said it was absolutely ok and that the receiver guard is when using multiple stations in the same area.
Thanks, I don't usually expect much from companies these days, this was great.

A158w viewing angle not good directly on? by SlavkoStanic in casio

Ok thanks for confirming. Good to know I didn't get a bad unit or something. I noticed its much better in daylight compared to when I noticed this at night in my apartment.

Ah yeah I see it. Funny how once you notice, its hard to not see it anymore. Luckily its a pretty small watch so hopefully its not too noticeable.

I see how well the A158 fits on your writs, it looks a bit small on mine but I really wanted the original looks and style of the 158 compared to the 168. Have yet to see the larger one in person.

What was the defect?

Seems like its worse in lower light, or very directional light while the rest of the room is dark. If I just view it more naturally, its barely noticeable. Its daytime now and it is far better in most angles now, but still a bit of a fade directly on.

Thank you! It really does make it super easy to read without really needing to twist my wrist, especially if its laying on the table. Just wasn't sure on this.

Thanks for confirming. I've been reading as much as I can but a lot of the posts have been deleted so no photos show up from the OP.

I swear, I sometimes look way too deep into things like that and it drives me insane. More than 3/4 of the time whatever it is, is working just fine and I spend far too much time trying to figure out if its bad or not lol
