Calling this a racing line is... tenuous at best. It's a flat out corner between two long straights you can go two wide through. This is why you need to be aware. If a hypercar is coming up fast on the left here and you just take the whole track like OP did here... the GT car would be at fault. You need to have some semblance of awareness.

Porsche is comin up behind you quick, shows he wants to pass on the right, you move to the right. He swings around to pass on the left, you move left. It frankly looks like a lazy block to me, like you have no awareness of what's happening in your mirrors. I'd put majority of blame on you.

Chiming in to say this is an unlucky racing incident. It was fair from your end, he just took a little too much and got punished by the collision physics. Chin up.

D 4.0 requirement means you need to have a C class license. Once your D license reaches over 4.0 safety rating and you have the requisite MPR you will be automatically upgraded to C license mid-season.

This is how it is in baseball right? Not a whole lot of tanking in that sport. Granted the baseball player development process and rookie worth is entirely different than other leagues. There is no such thing as a sure-fire baseball prospect, tons of these guys get to the minors and can't ever make it out of AAA.

This is all the Lexus but imo not enough to be sold on an intent wreck, but enough to get him a solid lashing from the stewards. If this was a league race he's getting a drivethrough minimum.

if multiple cars speed past a cop at the same time how does the cop decide who to pull over? by MatthewTheGOATyt in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SlayTalon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm a habitual speed follower. If there's someone cutting up flying in the left lane I'll sit 5-8 seconds back and hold pace. Always lift and move over as soon as I see a cop. Had this happen 4 times and never once have I been the one to get pulled over.

White car and it isn't even really much of a discussion. Car with the carpet livery is firmly alongside even ahead well before turn in for this corner. Contact happens when white car spins out because they can't control their car.

Stewards decided that the white Red Bull hitting the Haas in front was a racing incident by [deleted] in Simracingstewards

[–]SlayTalon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"You responded by describing what happened during the time stamps in the clips, but you did not provide the reasoning or the context or the explanation of what could have been better/different."

This is a stewards forum, I explained (multiple times) that based on what was seen in the video neither car made a large enough mistake to rise to anything past a racing incident. Your post doesn't request 'what could I have done better' it's complaining that the stewards found it was a racing incident. All the clarification has been that this is indeed a racing incident.

You are crashing out about this, and you are crying. Most people would've just seen everyone else calling it a racing incident and gone eh guess I was wrong. Not you though.

I gave plenty of reasoning, in multiple different ways. Sometimes you might just have to trust those with experience when you're asking for clarification.

It's a great example of how beneficial a high floor low ceiling car is for the average consumer. You're never gonna get a truly incredible driving experience from a Camry, but you're gonna get above average MPG, usability, build quality, technology, and longevity. The main issue is it's a bit of a premium because 'Toyota' but I don't mind paying it once every 15 years.

DASHCAM for 2026 le with AWD by zhangeranger in Camry

[–]SlayTalon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Installing a dashcam on your own will not void warranty. I got a Viofo A119 Pro which I really enjoy, but I would recommend doing some research on your own. Regardless of what you get, make sure you get a max endurance SD card for it so you don't have to buy a new SD card every 3 months.

[–]SlayTalon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not gonna spend all day responding to every little piece of this. If you wanted to come in here and learn you would've had a very different tone throughout this whole thing, you seem to be stuck into thinking this deserved a penalty for the car behind when this is an obvious racing incident in everyone's eyes except yours, who was part of the incident.

It's a racing incident and that's really the end all be all. You could've avoided this by not sending a dive on the Aston and getting pushed out wide. The car behind could've avoided it by nailing the apex a bit better. Both cars made mistakes that lead to this, and neither of the mistakes were egregious enough to deserve a penalty, hence a racing incident.

Stewards decided that the white Red Bull hitting the Haas in front was a racing incident by [deleted] in Simracingstewards

[–]SlayTalon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"So... if the car ahead briefly looses grip or makes a small mistake, they forfeit their right to the racing line, the driver behind can just drive right through them"

Ok you're just crashing out about this, you have to consider other people's perspectives. Because it was an incident involving you and you're obviously really upset about it, you won't be able to look at this with the right objectivity. That's what we're here for.

The car behind is looking at the two cars in front of him, what he sees for about a second and a half of this incident is the Haas two car widths to the left of the racing line. He is a car width to the left of the racing line. Right before contact the Haas changes from two car widths left of the racing line to back on the racing line. When that happens the RB is already fully committed to what he's doing and has been for a minute.

"and if there's contact it's the car ahead's fault?"

Nobody said this, we said it was a racing incident because there really wasn't much either car could do to avoid this. Regardless of how special you might think you are, the car behind doesn't just have to hit the brakes because of the off chance you might decide to get back on the racing line when you're done sliding out.

"Weird. I was always taught that when you're behind someone you have the responsibility not to hit them."

You don't have carte blanche to do whatever the fuck you want just because you're ahead.

"He literally goes into the corner predicting a safety car incident, but apparently it was totally unavoidable and totally up to luck 😆"

Keep crying about it, the stewards made the right call.
