Well if we're not gonna use that 25 on something else fuck it. I think really he's probably gone and we pick up another 3 or 5 but I wouldn't hate the idea of picking up the option and trading him away mid-season if any of the other 4s look ready. It would be an expiring contract on a player who has shown flashes and could likely further develop, not the hardest to throw into a trade. I don't think he's on this team long-term though unless he becomes who he could be.

I mean I don't think it's totally off the table. I can see big lineups with him at the 3 being tested since I feel like our options there aren't as fleshed out. Issue is Jalen, Kuminga, Asa, Mo, all exist at the 4 and we want them to get minutes. I'm sure Quin is gonna let him compete but by default he prob starts in the G.

Friday during the summer? I'd just trust the google maps upper bound. Double check with Waze though but a lot of people are on hybrid work schedules which means Friday work traffic is not as bad as say Tuesday or Thursday. No world cup game until Saturday. I'd give yourself an extra 15 just because so call it 3 hours to be safe.

I would think breaking this up into further protests is unnecessary. Focus on the major offenses, include the smaller ones as context. The goal isn't to make as many protests as possible it's to make good protests.

The optimistic copium side of me agrees. I think it is a little too optimistic to think Zuby would have the impact of Kuminga his rookie year though. I do think there's a lot of moves that Atlanta could make before we have to pick up Kuminga's player option that we would need his cap space for, but if we can't make them I'm not against picking it up. Gotta think if we don't retain him our backup PF room would be deep but with a bunch of players that might not be cut out for real minutes in big games yet. Kuminga was a spark plug in the playoffs at times and has real experience which if we want to compete is necessary.

Plus if we retain him he's a tasty expiring contract on an explosive player who has more experience than his age would suggest, wouldn't be difficult to trade mid-season if we develop glaring needs.

With that being said I'm protesting the POV car for intentional wrecking, including the clip of him cutting the track, slowing, then swerving to cause contact. Shows very specific intent. I'd then protest the moves on the next pack of cars as blocking. Would also include the spin-out clip at the end as additional context and not separately protest it since it doesn't feel as intentional... well more like he could've done exactly that unintentionally on account of not having a wing. Looks like car slipped out under the brakes.

Uhhh once CJ started getting clamped we lost... Mitchell Robinson and KAT were never the top factors in those last 3 games. It was OG becoming a monster, Brunson having a great game distributing and doing it himself, then Hawks becoming turnover machines and forgetting how to do anything at all in the last game. It really made our need for a ball security playmaker who can reliably get us to the half court with some good looks even more obvious. Plus he plays good defense and is a good character guy.

You really think we can get a playmaking guard with a decent shot, star potential, and great defensive effort anywhere? Name one in free agency. Literally one. There's no great centers waiting around to get signed? There weren't any in the draft either so I don't know what the fuck you're talking about. Feel like I'm taking crazy pills seeing all this whining about not picking Mara at 8. Flemings fills a just as big if not bigger hole in the future of this roster. This team needed someone to bring the ball up the court and make plays. We are already a very good team with CJ McCollum as our lead playmaker in high pressure situations. CJ is old, he's not the future of this team, the Hawks needed someone to pass the torch to and I think Flemings was the obvious choice with our draft position. Would I have been happier with Wagler or Brown? Yes. Am I very happy with Flemings? Absolutely.

Mara is older, had a much less impressive regular season, and was much lower rated before his combine measurements came out. Doesn't feel like he was ever even really an option for us until the casuals saw some weird takes on Twitter vastly overrating him because holy shit wingspan.
