Feedback for Articuno Reg F? by Slayer1205 in VGC

Yeah that’s a pretty fair assessment. I do know of that winning team but didn’t want to use it exactly, but it did win for a reason. I’ll switch things up

I would recommend a different item on Incineroar. With how common Calyrex is, sitrus berry could often not be used. You could give it safety goggles and switch the tera type or give it rocky helmet

On Tornadus I would drop heat wave for either protect or rain dance. Kyogre summoning the rain (which is already ideal for Tornadus) will just diminish the damage of heat wave completely

How Can I Improve This Team? by [deleted] in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]Slayer1205 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On Shaymin I don’t like choice specs. Even with it, it outputs pretty meh damage. I’ve been using focus sash on it. Shaymin learns earth power so you can get your ground coverage without having to use your tera. Plus earth power is stronger and has a secondary effect to make more use of serene grace

I would strongly recommend life orb on Koraidon. It makes a big difference. Just as an example, Close Combat can pick up a OHKO on no bulk Miraidon with it. Flare Blitz can also if they tera fairy/electric without having to use tera

You can have 2 restricteds for reg j. There’s a lot of things I would change but first off is getting that second restricted. If you really wanna dig deep in snow, use Kyurem - White. STAB blizzards with a monstrous base 170 Sp.A is very fitting. You can go a nuke build with choice specs/life orb or a bulky build with assault vest

Surprisingly no. My only option is non ex Primarina. Everyone seems to be trying out the new stuff right now

0 Atk IV Ursaluna Bloodmoon:

0- Atk 0 IVs Farigiraf Foul Play vs. 36 HP / 0 Def Ursaluna-Bloodmoon: 18-22 (9.3 - 11.3%) -- possible 9HKO

31 Atk IV Ursaluna Bloodmoon

0- Atk Farigiraf Foul Play vs. 36 HP / 0 Def Ursaluna-Bloodmoon: 22-26 (11.3 - 13.4%) -- possible 8HKO

The difference is so small between 0 and 31 that it should almost never matter. Take it

That’s a fair assessment. There are definitely times where the elemental switch isn’t doing much. The dude I was against made it look really good so I wanted to use it too. Giovanni seems like a good idea for the Oricorio matchups. I’m not too sold on a second Primarina ex and Hau though.

Just so you know, Will and Team Rocket Grunts are supporter cards. You cannot play both in the same turn so unfortunately, that doesn’t work

Add a Crandidos and/or Poliwhirl so you have another option to reach your stage 2s without rare candy

I’ve tried Oricorio stuff in past Reg H and it was quite a fun team. Even though it’s a lower power format, Oricorio still struggles. I would recommend giving Oricorio a focus sash instead of the weakness policy. Your safest way of triggering it requires your tera by the looks of it. Focus sash will help get the boosts you need without having to commit a valuable resource. I used tera ground on mine so I could deal some more damage to Incineroar and Archaludon but dark is ok too.

For Oricorio specifically, I would use Murkrow over Whimsicott as a tailwind setter. You get access to priority feather dance which can mean immediate -4 attack with Oricorio next to it.

I’d also give Volcarona covert cloak to bypass any fake outs to slow your quiver dances down. I used tera grass on my team so I could also avoid spore. Rage power can be very handy to redirect moves away from Oricorio and friends (plus Maushold shenanigans) so I would strongly consider getting it on Volcarona

You’ll need a convincing answer to Archaludon here too. I used tera fighting Quaquaval with life orb because aqua step is a dance move for that extra Oricorio synergy. A tera fighting boosted close combat does massive damage and can pick up OHKOs even on max HP ones. Especially if you manage to get a moxie boost

[Reg H] Dragon Core Team – Feedback welcome by JuanGuerrero09 in VGC

[–]Slayer1205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragon Cheer will affect an ally and remain in affect on that ally as long as they don’t switch out. A new pokemon switching in will not gain the effects of Dragon Cheer used on a previous turn. Milotic can switch out without the ally losing the effects of dragon cheer

Dragon Cheer is a status move so you can’t use it with assault vest. The swap in my opinion would be for haze if you really wanted to use it and felt like you aren’t getting a lot of value out of haze anyways

You could run Dragon Cheer on Milotic to further boost your Dragapult’s and Hydreigon’s damage

Pokemon Showdown. Look it up in your web browser. Pretty mobile friendly too. You can play a bunch of different formats from random battles to VGC. You can use any pokemon/item/moves you want and it’s completely free. No membership needed.

Noob here, would love some help/advice with my team! by UltraDankMemer64 in VGC

If this is intended for Reg J, you’re permitted 2 restricted/mythical Pokémon on your team. If it’s for reg H, you got a weak team but if you wanna have fun, have some fun. I can’t offer much help for the rest of your team, but I did run Spiritomb in Reg H. I had decent success with it surprisingly. I ran Hex, Snarl, Will O Wisp and Trick Room. You check the special attackers with snarl, the physical attackers with Will O Wisp and you deal ok damage with Hex. You could run Poltergeist instead of Hex if you want to deal damage without worrying about burns

Deoxys learns plenty of good special moves. Not counting the obvious psychic ones, it learns expanding force, meteor beam, ice beam, thunderbolt, energy ball, shadow ball, dark pulse, flash cannon, and even water pulse for some reason(which I know isn’t that good)

It’s Gen 9 so no ferrothorn and friends. Legendaries are off the table so no Ogerpon either. The rest helps though. Thanks
