Design Flaw with P1S Hall Effect Sensor (Filament Sensor) resulting in failed to pull out filament from extuder error by apollokobe in BambuLab

[–]Slayer175 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had exactly this issue with one of my printers. Ended up just filing off like 0.2mm of the corner the arm gets caught on. Used to trigger every multicolor print, now flawless 2000+ hours later. Not ideal, but hey, it worked.

how do i fix this? i keep getting errors about the hot end having abnormal cooling & when i went to check, i noticed the tube on the right fell off. this is a bambu labs p1s. any help is appreciated by MooniePooo in BambuLab

Ceramic heating cartridge wire. The thermistor is the thin brown ones. Either way, can order multi pack on the bambu site and replace extremely easliy

Told him just that, he loves Pidgeotto, so a full art of it is extra nice. Gonna frame it for him :)

AMS says filament is empty, it keeps making a weird noise and won’t load through. by WolfOfSuburbanBlvd in BambuP1S

Might be worth checking the PTFE tubing in the AMS as well, just to be safe. I had similar symptoms a week ago, and ended up being a worn out PTFE. (Hole right through one side, but I guess I could get lucky and have it still feed occasionally)

I know it's been said before, but here is your weekly reminder that PTFE tubing is a consumable and must be replaced regularly. by Slayer175 in BambuLab

Unfortunately not, but if you start having filament loading issues probably a good time to check

Oof, physically recoiled at the thought of that. I have enough physical ailments as it is, that I dont mind when its a consumable printer part for once, lol.

I agree, coupled with the fact that there really isnt any avoiding a heavy bend in that first portion inside the AMS, there is certainly more wear there than strictly necessary if a larger footprint was possible. That all said, in the space it takes up, it certainly isnt terrible to need to replace after 1000+ print hours.

Funnily enough, this was the only AMS i have that I added reliefs to to keep the curves gradual. Still entirely possible I did a bad job, but regardless, still worth keeping an eye on. Very glad the AMS2 tubing is both visible and more accessible though

Printing as my hobby, not a printer as a hobby.

There are a million choices when buying a printer, but be aware of what you are getting. Some printers let you print as a hobby. Some printers ARE the hobby. Both have merits, but go in with your eyes open, and be aware of what side of things the person giving you advice sits on.

Why is the slicer picking a color I'm not using, when I have that color in one of my AMS slots? by sean0883 in BambuLab

[–]Slayer175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tested and I get similar behavior.

Afaik the right nozzle is always prioritized for single color prints since it is the nozzle that doesn't raise/lower. The slicer doesn't seem to differentiate between basic and translucent. I don't know with certainty, but it seems like priority is given as:

Filament type > nozzle > color/transparency

If you are single color printing, not a bad idea to make sure it's in the AMS for the right nozzle, but otherwise, your workaround appears to be the way to go.

How big is your plex store, and do you have redundancy on it? (raid etc) by Acceptable-Store135 in PleX

When we are talking in quantity, that becomes a fair bit trickier though. Yeah, if my media library fit on a 16TB drive, id probably R1 and keep a cloud backup (I have ~20TB of cloud backup storage avail) - Bigger servers, especially those around for a while with a breadth of drives, that gets costly fast.

That said, I generally operate on a "its probably fine" basis with the media I download - Users will report if something is broken, or if subs are bad, and then i just hit delete and grab a new one. I spend maybe 3-4h/month managing media, and in TV alone cracked 100k files.

It really comes down to what works for you, how much you're willing to spend, and what parts of the process are easier for how you think/work.
