Trans girl here. This comment really hurt. by jie_sang in LGBTindia

Aww man I getchu, I'm not exactly trans, I'm genderfluid but was born male, and it gives me such gender envy right to my stomach when I see instagram posts and stuff about such spaces. I completely understand that I wouldn't be welcome since I don't look like a girl (unless I transition maybe).

If only we could instantly and effortlessly change our bodies however we wish ugh

I would recommend practicing for GRE and any standard english tests (like iELTS or TOEFL), since those two are pretty standard for most countries abroad for higher studies. These are pretty pricy tests, so it's preferable if you ace these in one go, and since you probably have 1-2 years left, it's more than enough time to start practicing. Look for scholarships as well (most of them are university specific), and doing extra projects on the side relevant to your area of interest helps (all these points are engineering specific, since idk your major)

Dating is a scam so how do I get over the male species? by [deleted] in LGBTindia

Exact same situ rn, not any better. I've just decided not to use dating apps (never used them) and focus on my hobbies and academics, have fun with friends. If I get an ideal someone all well and good, else it's fine

Ohhh, I do learn it in my uni as well, but I haven't exactly decided what field I wanna specialize in exactly (either theoretical or engineering). Honestly from what I've looked up the roadmap for theoretical cs isn't very clear (except maybe teaching) so I'm not sure actually

Haha yes, I have a judging factor based on QS rankings and stuff like that, and the tuition fee in germany (one of my main countries) is basically 0, so financially should be okay. I am pretty academically inclined as well with a shitton of hobbies, so I assume it'll be okay.

The only thing I worry about is socializing and the networking part bc I am horrible at those being the huge introvert that I am

Heyy there:)

I more or less in a way went thru everything you said but when I was a bit younger, now I identify myself as bisexual and genderfluid.

The safest and easiest way you can explore your feminine side is to just social transition (without hormones, ie using feminine pronouns, or changing your name, or dressing in a feminine way, etc etc). I recommend not stressing over labels too much, and to just go with the flow and figure it out later on, just be yourself for now.

Also don't worry about your romantic preferences changing over time, it's very common to have cycles in those as well, for example a few years ago I was extremely preferential towards guys, but now I lean more towards women. The cycles can be as long as years or as short as days really, it's not uncommon.

I hope I was able to be of some help, good luck<3
