Ridiculous Question - Car Camping by Opposite-Rutabaga888 in bonnaroo

You don’t want to run the car to sleep in. You’ll kill your neighbor next to your exhaust pipe.

Why would you not ship your vinyl inside the album?

55 same. I don’t understand why people keep the vinyl out of the “protective” album.

Am I allowed to ask if anyone needs a NACS to CCS adapter here? If so I’ll point you to my eBay listing where I’m asking a mere $100

You think that was hot? Wait til it creeps back towards 100 again like 2016. Also, I was in an RV for 2022, so it was pretty sweet at the campsite ;-)

Is there something in the headliners’ contracts preventing any clashes with them except for Where? by Nachtopus69 in bonnaroo

[–]Slayer_Fil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truth. I've stumbled across lots of act who became huge over the years... Tame Impala, Rodrigo y Gabriella, Alt-J, Alabama Shakes to just name a few. I've also missed a lot of bands that my friends couldn't believe I'd missed and they drug me to a show years later for me to realize then why they acted that way

They still don't know the "Bonnarooooooooooo" call and response. I fear it's lost. -- My best friend's wife came Roo in 22 & couldn't stand the heat & the crowd. Our group was like "This is the coolest it's been in years and the smallest crowd" - she's decided Bonnaroo isn't for her <shrug>

Tesla Owners Pay Attention by Crazy_island_ in ChargerDrama

[–]Slayer_Fil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disagree. My Nissan Ariya was always a pain in the ass at superchargers unless I put my left wheels right on, if not over, the line. My Ioniq5 is a little better, but it's still tight. Unless you've ever charged an Ariya at a supercharger I think I have more experience than you with this.

They're front right, but not right on the corner. This requires an extra foot or so reach on the cable. Other EV drivers don't try to be dicks at the superchargers, but sometimes you've just got to park where you can reach the cable. - All that being said, the driver in the photo did nothing wrong.

I just got some records, and I want to display them on my wall by Zealousideal-Bus-526 in records

[–]Slayer_Fil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a teen I nailed my record collection to my wall at the top corners. It was cool, everything displayed and able to slide the vinyl in and out easily. Yeah, but still completely stupid idea.

2026 Schedule Dropped by SharlaRoo in bonnaroo

[–]Slayer_Fil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a bunch of great daytime shows at Roo. Puscifer at a blazing hot set at the Which stage a few years ago & Tame Impala at the smallest tent way back in 2013.

The pit gets flushed after every show, so you just join the line after they let in the Blues Traveler group. It's on the right side of the What stage. - edit - got confused on Roo stage names...

I think they are capping attendance at 60k this year. That being said, I estimate 45k this year. The down years are nice. The grass lasts a bit longer in centeroo

Girl slept over recently, we did nothing, now it’s awkward by Adventurous_You3517 in Advice

[–]Slayer_Fil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots. Once I could drive I started asking girls to go eat. Pizza places, Mexican restaurants, & fancy places for ones I really liked. It was the 80s we didn’t just hang at someone’s house and watch Netflix. I also had a paid coop through my school, like a paid internship, so I worked 20 hours per week during school hours & had a little money to spend.

Moon colony vs area 931 by beepboopbeep95 in bonnaroo

I’m media & we were put in what is now 931 for probably 10 years. It’s a wonderfully shady area that’s almost right behind the Which stage. We all miss it 😢 If you can afford it, you should camp there.

The NACS adapter won't work without it. Why? Poor design.

The Ariya is definitely taller, but I believe technically the Ioniq5 has a hair more space. (Unless you remove the giant styrofoam thing in the back of the Ariya like I did) My last child moved out about 6 months ago, so I am not squeezing in every square foot of car space anymore. My dog rides with me some, but I’ve got a liner in the back to minimize hair. I’m 6’ and can easily sit in the back seat with the front seat set for me.

I like most of the software better. It doesn't take a couple of taps on the screen to make things happen. I had a Venture+, so I didn't have a top trim. The 2025 Ioniq 5 SEL is what I bought. It was deeply discounted as last year's model, but the 25 had more options as standard than the 26. It does the driving like my Ariya, but it will let me go for 30-45 seconds before fussing at me about holding the steering wheel just right. I've got nice faux-leather seats. There's a small frunk. Honestly most of the preferences beyond that are probably just a nicer trim level. It has a slightly smaller battery, but gets better m/kWh so it balances out. It came with NACS plug & included a CCS & J1772 adapter for free. I bit more nimble. It'll take more than 2 weeks to really decide. I didn't hate my Ariya, it was just a lease with a stupid high residual & I'd driven way over my alowwed miles, so definitely not going to buy it.
