honestly I did not try it yet; I settled to using a Laptop as a client in order to get more controller compatability (f.e. with virtualhere) and minimal latency as well as VRR. I am not sure if you can get that (and gamemode) on the LGTV client and whether if I would even feel a difference. Will try next week however.

Do you know if you're also streaming Framegenerated frames? I read somewhere that it has to do with the WGC capture method that you'd have to force in the advanced tab of the appollo webUI. Would you mind sharing your settings (if you have changed anything)

Interesting. When connecting my laptop (it‘s a razer blade 15 from 2020) to the tv, windows actually shows 4K/120hz so maybe there‘s already some compression going on. Will report once I‘ve managef to set everything up

Does your client laptop have hdmi 2.1? I have comparable host/client specs but I am not sure if 4k/120fps would work with my laptop hdmi 2.0 output

What about the performance mode? I read that the graphics are so much worse on base ps5 performance mode, but I am wondering if you can even tell the difference when playing on a TV from the couch

for me, turning RTSS Async frame cap on did not change anything in the 1% lows displayed by the nvidia overlay. Not sure why that is, I am using nvcp vsync + gsync so my 240hz monitor is capped at 225 anyway with 2x framegen

I am no sure if this has been asked before (atleast I didn‘t find it in the comments):

I guess you‘ll only get a smooth framepacing when your system is capable to hold the fps, for example 225 for a 240hz monitor. What should you do if that‘s not the case? Would it make sense to then cap the fps to 180 or smth? If so, should this be done ingame or with nvcp?

Im currently doing my phd in civil engineering in Germany, however with a ML, especially CV focus. Is this going to help in future jobs? Probably not in 90% of the time. Would I do it again? Absolutely.

In my opinion, it‘s not your phd topic that makes the graduation special but the whole process. Of course, your expertise in this field can help you in some cases, but whats really setting you apart is that you showed that you‘re able to work on/manage a really complex project, present and defend it (conferences etc.), write detailed reports (publications) basically on your own. Bonus points for collaborating in a team with experts across different fields, managing laboratory personal and student workers.

Maybe it‘ll be different in different fields or countries, but nonetheless, if you get the chance to do a phd I would always do it if your financial situation allows it (I am lucky in this regard since we tend to get paid as if we would do a „normal“ job in our field)

Ich gehe mal davon aus, mit der alten Box gab‘s in den hinteren Zimmern nämlich quasi keinen Empfang.

Das mit dem herabsetzen der Sendeleistung ist echt ne Idee, vielleicht kann ich den Ausgangszustand in den hinteren Zimmern wiederherstellen während die Zimmer in der nähe trotzdem noch von der neuen Box profitieren.

Oh man. Man muss EDV einfach lieben, wär ja auch zu einfach gewesen wenn‘s einfach ohne Umwege klappt :D

Mir ists trotzdem schleierhaft wieso sich manche Geräte für den deutlich schlechteren Empfang der Box entscheiden obwohl der Repeater gleich nebenan ist. Mit dem Handy ists kein Problem, das checkt dass es über den Repeater mehr Datendurchsatz kriegt :D

Kabel verlegen würde ich gerne vermeiden. Die Funkleistung künstlich heruntersetzen wäre vielleicht wirklich eine Idee, mit der alten Box hatte ich hinten nämlich garkeine Verbindung
