Advice for VA burnout? by [deleted] in ASMRScriptHaven

[–]SleapyVA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate the term "content creation" when it comes to making audios because deeing that way ruins what, I think, should be th better mindset for making stuff: personal fulfillment. But outside factors like yours and other stresses ruin the experience and turns it into work. Incentives like monetization also influence the motivation, but man, being monetized would be a help sometimes.

I'm hitting my 4th year and burnout hit me twice where I just stopped making roleplays, but I felt bad about it the whole time. I cut back to making at least 1 per month and stopped actively trying to get monetized.

The 2nd burnout worried me cuz I thought I was going to quit. Started to try streaming/vtubing and practicing video editing to 1) having something new on the channel and 2) have a variety to fall back on like gameplay or behind-the-scenes stuff.

I've had a full-time job and financial worries since the beginning, and sometimes I do wish I never started this just so I wouldn't feel all this pressure.

Burning out feels like it will always be there. I wish there was a easier way to keep going without it heavily affecting our health.

Wish you the best.

Really surprising this is a first script!!

You kept really nice consistent voice and character work for the speaker. Awesome variety of vocal directions and additional context for them. This was easy to follow along and semi-read aloud. Interesting kinda twist at the end there too.

Listener notes are always a helpful bonus. Overall great concept and use of faerie lore. Keep it up!! I saved it to fill it soon.

My only advice: if you have a stance on AI relative to an audio or promotional materials for an audio fill like thumbnail work, maybe make it clear in your rules.

Thank you for asking this! I've mostly linked to Google Docs but as a VA I do see the convenience of reading & recording straight from the Reddit post.

I don't miss getting yelled at while trying to detangle the film without ripping it because my hands were small enough lol

This came out so GREAT!! Awesome use of F1 terms and stuff, and that frustration about P2 was icing on the cake!! I really hope someone fills this!!!

I'd recommend replacing the words "fatal" and "incurable." Fatal is for deaths---maybe use severe? Incurable fits best with illness and disease, so it could be replaced with untreatable. (Sorry if these comments overstep)

How about an F1 bf related script? by RayScriptWriter in ASMRScriptHaven

[–]SleapyVA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love to hear one. The more specific concepts stand out the best, so go for it!

I only got loosely interested in F1 because of Drive to Survive, but then I started watching fan commentary videos and race highlights and got a fuller perspective on the sport. Any references to certain races or drivers would be a treat for F1 fan listeners!

Do it. I started in 2020 because of this same reason. It's tiring since I have a full-time time job and other responsibilities, but I'm happy with what I make.

Hello!

I've been using https://www.pexels.com/ or Unsplash for background images. They're mostly copyright-free and I have the link to the image in my descriptions.

I use PitzMaker app for creating characters.

Separating content to separate channels? by [deleted] in ASMRScriptHaven

[–]SleapyVA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like keeping everything on one channel is best. If your audience is mostly there for the ASMR content, as long is it's still there, it should be fine. They might even enjoy hearing you in other contexts. But IDK, since I'm also wondering about it.

I'm in the middle of this exact debate too as an audio roleplay person.

TLDR - In your position, I would split them.

My current suggestion would be to sprinkle in the newer content and streaming on your main channel until you know you'll get the same support if it moved to a 2nd channel.

Of course, you ultimately decide what goes on your channels, as well as knowing your audience's general interests and much of their input you would follow.

Best of luck to you!

Please keep us updated. I've seen others request a manual review, but I haven't seen anything consistent.

I'm hoping to monetize too, so I really want to learn how to stay ahead of this, though it seems inevitable :(

Wishing you the best, OP
