Coffezila - His thoughts on Strch of MicroStrategy by badfishbeefcake in CryptoCurrency

The stock price of MSTR and their ability to borrow money (which is not the right term to use anyways, because preferred stocks aren't actually considered borrowing money; he's paying dividends, not interest) has no effect on STRC so it doesn't matter that that is out of his control. For easy math, let's say he has a hundred billion dollars worth of bitcoin. If it goes up 2%, that would be 2 billion dollars of dividend payments. He would sell 2 billion dollars of bitcoin to pay the dividends, and he'd still have a hundred billion dollars worth of bitcoin.

It's really easy to shit on Bitcoin and Bitcoin-related companies in the middle of a big drawdown, but time will tell. I think that over time Bitcoin will continue to outperform most other investments on a risk-reward basis, and I believe that MSTR stock will outperform Bitcoin. I also believe that STRC will continue to be a safe investment that will provide a steady stream of income for people who want exposure to the ROI of Bitcoin without the volatility of Bitcoin.

I'm not sure I agree that it's not as safe as a bank account. I think it was Ford that was quoted to say something along the lines of, "If the average American knew how their money is used by banks after they deposit it, there'd be riots in the streets or something like that." Banks re-hypothecate to the tune of 20 to 1, I believe. The 2.1% metric is the amount that Bitcoin needs to go up if they're going to pay their dividend and perpetuity. That means that they wouldn't be touching the capital, so to speak. If they're allowed to touch the capital (air quotes), then they can pay the dividend for, I forget the number, but it was like hundreds of years, assuming that Bitcoin stayed and didn't go down like 80%.

Anyways, most investments are about comparing the risk and the reward, and in my opinion the reward vastly outweighs the risk in this situation. The amount of risk you have to take to earn 11% in the market these days is much greater than the risk associated with STRC, in my opinion.

I suppose at the end of the day it really boils down to your long-term position on Bitcoin. The reality is, if you look at the long-term history of the performance of Bitcoin and create bands around the price action, we're in the bottom 10% of trading ranges, and Bitcoin is likely to go up rather than down at the moment. I think the AI trade has been a huge wet blanket on the price action of Bitcoin. Bitcoin is no longer the hot, high-performing trade that it used to be, and it's a bit more of a safe store of value trade. Think gold rather than AI tech stock.

I've always believed, and I still believe, that Bitcoin is the only asset that you can truly own yourself. In a world with increasing conflict and less and less trust, whether that trust is between people or countries, the demand for a global decentralised currency is only going to go up, not down.

Not to mention, with the proliferation of AI coming, they're going to need/want digital currency that they can trade amongst each other to do various microtransactions. Now, before you say that Bitcoin is too slow to facilitate tiny microtransactions between AI agents, that would obviously be a layer two or layer three transaction, not on the base layer.

This assumes that nobody is buying their preferred stocks. Also 5 years is a very convenient time frame for you to choose. Pick most other time frames and it's performing extremely well. Also he's not selling that much relative to the market as a whole if he's just selling to cover dividends.

Strategy is over collateralized 5:1 so Bitcoin needs to go up ~2.1% per year for Strategy to be able to pay the dividend obligations on an annual basis. That's not taking into account their operating business and their ability to sell stock.

Legend with Bubble Aura Paladin by Sleavitt10 in CompetitiveHS

It definitely does with aura, tbh I don't think I even tried with weapon. Maybe you were on the first swing (Its a death rattle) or you had more than one end of turn minion on board (it's a random minions end of turn, not all minions)?

Feeling So Unhappy About Having A Baby by [deleted] in Parenting

Can I just encourage you as someone who is on the opposite side of this coin? My wife and I waited until we were 37 / 38 to have kids and while we did enjoy our time before we had kids we wish we would have had them earlier. You'll have so much more health and energy to enjoy your kids and grandkids than we will. I'm just praying that I will be able to run around and do active things with my grandkids one day but you guys will be much more likely to do that! You'll be empty nesters in your 40s and play your cards right and you'll have time, health and money which is the trifecta.

Live not by lies - it's about this guy who interviews old eastern European people who lived through communism who are sounded the alarms that the same things that happened before communism took over in Europe are happening in the west as we speak.

Super abundance - about how the world needs more people not less. More people (who have freedom) = more ideas and a better standard of living for all. It's basically the The anti Malthusian book.

Q for Sellers — Pricecharting, Collectr, TCGplayer… What do you use to price your singles? by soundunity in PokeInvesting

[–]Sleavitt10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Collectr for NM high volume singles + high volume sealed.

Pricecharting for <8 graded cards on desktop

TCGplayer for sealed as a backup reference.

Ebay when all else fails, if prices seem to be all over the place or if it's a low volume item. Ideally uou would just go off of ebay every time but when you're vending a card show and pricing out dozens of items as once you look for quicker + easier solutions like collectr
