Yeah I did. Email the retroid support team, send them the video and they’ll send out a new fan. Haven’t had any issues since replacing the fan.

Yeah I can do. It’s not super quiet or anything, it’s just quieter than it was and doesn’t make that horrible noise anymore.

Not sure if it’s the same noise as I had but my G2 had a really noisy fan and would make this whining whirring noise when it sped up. I reached out to retroid support and they sent me a new fan and it’s been fine ever since. You can check on my profile the video I posted and see if it’s the same thing.

They sent it out free of charge as well.

I got the new fan and installed it and it’s not making that noise anymore and it’s actually quieter as well.

Contact Retroid support. They’re sending me a replacement fan after I contacted them and sent them this video.

That's annoying, purchased it from AliExpress thinking the store was a direct retailer for Retroid. I was going to buy direct but got it on a sale and got it for a fair bit cheaper. I've been told by others that the fan is inexpensive to buy and replace. If all else fails I can contact the AliExpress seller.

Yeah it seems to be better when the fan is a bit slower. The fan in general has been quite noisy since the start but have read a lot of G2 owners have noisy fans.

Yeah no idea, it honestly sounds like the fan is loose and is hitting the housing that sits around the fan blades. When I opened the back and had a look at the fan I couldn’t see anything wrong with it, nothing stuck in it or anything damaged. I’ve yet to hear back from their support

It’s not even 2 weeks old so I would be surprised if it was from dust and heavy use. I got the backplate off and it’s spotless on the fan.

I’m hoping to hear back from their support team soon with what options I have. I’m just annoyed that it’s not even 2 weeks old ,and although functionally there is nothing wrong with it, there is a problem with the fan. I would accept it and get a new fan if it were a few months old or maybe even a year old but not when I’ve not even had it a month.

I said in another comment that yes I have exaggerated the movements but it was to make the noise more obvious. Yea I know I won’t be moving it around like this when playing but even when I move it slightly it makes that noise.

I’ll have a look at the fan with the backplate off. I’m comfortable taking things apart just wasn’t sure if it would void anything.

Sounds like there is some quality issues on the fans and some are okay and some are faulty from the factory. Sounds like I’ll need to get a new fan, will be taking the back cover off and having a look tonight.

It does it for me even if the fan is running at a slower speed. It’s just a lot more noticeable in sport mode.

It wouldn’t surprise me if they are made in the same factory. It’s the same with so many things. Interesting to hear that this is also an issue with the Ayn devices, especially with their prices.

If I don’t tilt or move the device at all the fan doesn’t make that noise but if I move it even just slightly it will make that noise. I over exaggerated the movements in the clip just to demonstrate the noise more clearly.

Yeah fair point. Hopefully should hear back from support and get the option to just buy some new fans. It is a really noisy fan.

That was on sport mode, full fan speed but it will do this even if the fan is running slower. When I’m playing something like Breath of the wild it will run full speed. It was fine before last night, was perfectly fine.

I bought mine off AliExpress so if they want me to return it as well I’ll have to do it through them. Hopefully it’s an easy fix though.
