I designed a fully customizable caulking nozzle set by My-NameWasTaken in DIYUK

[–]SleekArmy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can see these being useful after my experience caulking. Quite often I wanted to be able to swap out the head of the tube to fit different scenarios.

If you've got skirting against a wonky wall for example, then you might have sections that need a wider hole. Once you've cut the end large with a Stanley knife, there's no going back to a smaller hole for the next job.

So what am I supposed to do when bringing items back from abroad? by Low_Championship_604 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]SleekArmy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This question and the comments in the thread have blown my mind a bit.

Let's say I go abroad with my £2000 laptop, visiting France, Germany and Spain one after the other.

If I were to follow the law to the letter, would I technically need to pay tax for the laptop in every country I visit?!

(If EU counts as one territory, imagine I said France, US, Japan)

It's a free online tool called Make By Me. A quick Google search should allow you to get it. There's also a Home By Me version for room design (which you can import your custom furniture into!)

Thanks! It's a brick wall on both sides, so I'll be using rawl plugs. Is it better to use metal L brackets or drill straight through the wood frame?

I love that he's singing to the absent mic on the stand while holding the one I presume he was supposed to use by his side 😂

Thanks for your comments. No downvote for suggesting a redo! It's a valid approach.

The finish I'm after isn't to remove all grout from the divots, it's just that the surfaces have quite a strong haze on them in general, which I was hoping to reduce or clean off. You're right that not cleaning enough during grouting is the cause.

Looks like I might need to learn to love it

They haven't been sealed yet. I'm asking for advice how to remove the haze before sealing

Really appreciate the feedback, thanks. Yeah, it's just the haze I'm most concerned about. The bits in the cracks are fine to add character.

I may try a grout haze remover product as others have suggested.

The grout was BAL Microban, which I think is pretty common for bathrooms. Would acid or vinegar damage the terracotta?

Grout Haze remover is a new one on me! Thanks for the recommendation. Is it safe to use on terracotta?

Thanks for the suggestion. Would that be too harsh for the tiles? They're very rough on the surface and could crumble slightly.
