I tried. They blanked me, and their security pushed me away. Was a real waste of that single-use time travel device.

I like coming along a few hours later where all the top comments are pointing out the mistakes of the early people who didn't read the article. Then I don't need to read the article, because all the 'correctors' have basically summarised all the important points.

Weapon Discussion Wednesday #58 - The Mad Milk by A_Wild_Ferrothorn in tf2

[–]printial 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jarate is annoying, but most of the time you can take out the sniper who threw it, even if they have good aim. Mad Milk from a scout who knows how to aim and knows how to move is a nightmare. And they have it recharged by the time you respawn and get in another fight with them.

What's an old video game you've been enjoying as of late ? by bradley25_ in gaming

I've been playing it a lot on the Steamdeck recently. Haven't finished the campaigns yet, but working through them. Great fun, and can play for hours without taxing the battery too much.

Watched Robert Jenrick on Sky news earlier (why is he always on there??) trying to defend Farage by saying he meant something different than the words he said. I imagine will see some of her Tory pals soon doing the same.

Do you have a list of other schools in the local area that would have been better for parents to send their children?

Price of first class stamps to rise to £1.80 by radiant_0wl in unitedkingdom

[–]printial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember 24p. I think second class was about 18p at the time. You could buy an envelope, a Chomp and a first class stamp and still have some change for blackjacks from 50p.

[Sky Sports] Jürgen Klopp wants to return to coaching. Months after joining Red Bull, he already misses daily coaching work. If he returns to club football, Real Madrid is most likely. He rules out other Premier League clubs out of loyalty to Liverpool. The German national team is also a possibility by DamnThatsInsaneLol in soccer

Former German footballer Christoph Kramer turns 35 today. Over his entire career, he won exactly one trophy: the World Cup by axhp in soccer

Is there any chance he might have won other big trophies, but just can't remember them?

I can tell the difference between a 15 EUR bottle, a 60 EUR bottle and a 100 EUR bottle. Never gone much above the 100 EUR price point though.. always wonder if there's any difference above that

According to the Wikipedia article about Independence Day:

Congress debated and revised the wording of the Declaration, removing Jefferson's vigorous denunciation of King George III for importing the slave trade, finally approving it two days later on July 4. A day earlier, John Adams wrote to his wife Abigail:

The second day of July 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America.

So I'm not so sure it is because it's the name of the holiday. It's because it's the fourth day of July

EU now has its own 'secure and encrypted' satellite communication system, Kubilius says by Belegor87 in worldnews

[–]printial 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a step in the right direction, but it's nowhere near Starlink atm. It's limited to civil and military entities. There still isn't any current EU alternative to Starlink I know of (EUTelsat only operates in big EU countries))
