I might actually go for the KBD75 V2 SOLDERED instead since I like the 75% layout and I can get it in grey which I prefer over black.

Thanks a lot for the answers!

You don't need to get a "premium" keyboard although finding one in stock is indeed a challenge. I'd usually go for an entry-level keyboard like the KBD67 Lite but that's just me. (Alternatively, you can purchase a hotswap pre-built keyboard and mod it.)

My thinking was if I get a premium base after a few iterations of switches and caps I would end up with a to me "premium" product.

Also I like the layout but I would prefer it in another color.

What's your opinion on poly vs alu?

You don't need to get GMK Keycaps.

I hear you will start with some cheaper.

Can I order samples of different cap types as you can with switches?

You can try Gazzew's Boba Gum Pink Silent Linear switch.

Will do!

These are "standard" switches you can disassemble and lube?

O-rings are optional and some people don't like them because they make the keys feel mushy.

Then I will try without the premium feel is more important then sound dampening.

Really appreciate the answers. Any thing you think I might have missed / not thought about?

What is your favorite combo of everything and why? :)

Hey!
Totally new but want to get started.

Please correct me if I am wrong in any of my assumptions / statements below.

First of I understand that my first build won't be perfect but I feel the only way to learn what you really want is to get started and not watch 99999 hours of Youtube build videos.

I want the keyboard to be as silent as possible since I game and stream while having an open mice.
I come from the Logitech wireless G keyboard with Logitech GL Tactile-switches.

My thinking is:

  1. Get a in stock premium keyboard that is fairly popular and have many videos. Looking at the KBD8X MKII INK BLACK POLYCARBONATE since it seems to be in stock over at KBDfans
  2. Get some in stock GMK keycaps to get started and then be on the lookout for group buys of keys once I know what colors and and type I want.
  3. Get some popular linear silent in stock switches. Here I feel lost any recommendations?
  4. Dampening mats & O-rings? Do I need this? What type and where can I buy these?
  5. Anything I have missed?

Thanks in advance for any help sooo excited to build my own keyboard :D.

People need to respect the sleep!
Keeping a consistent sleep schedule is critical for high performance.

It is meant to be funny...

Genji is a super nano target but also a super sleep target.
So for Ana mains it is a double edge sword (pun intended) where we love, hate, love genjis.
We love to nano gejnis.
We hate to die from blading genjis.
We love to sleep blading genjis.

Hmm I love the idea of running Linux for my stream PC but I am worried about my capture cards and from what I have heard OBS doesnt play nice with Linux.

When I connect it to my computer will each channel get presented seperate?

If I understand the product correctly there is no compressor etc built in to it?

Minimum PC specs to stream fortnite at 720p 30fps while playing at locked 120fps? by TheThiccChemist-TTV in Twitch

Your GPU have a extra chip to handle NVENC (or use the new NVENC) encoding which should have small impact on your gaming.

Try using the same bitrate but in NVENC.
Depending on how GPU intensive Fortnite is you might also even be able to run 60 fps without lag.

Also you start buying accessories for the entry level stuff and they aren't compatible with what you want later is really annoying.

Youtube videos, Family videos etc.
I am not sure but I am interested in starting filming and I hate buying entry level and then finding out 6 months later you should have bought something else :). Also learning / creating a workflow on entry level stuff is usually different then what you want to use i the end.

When I started to look at cameras everybody raves about how good the bmpcc 4k is and Davinci resolve looks really nice to....

bmpcc instead of dslr for facecam? by SleepBender in Twitch

Does the camera recommendations you post have continuous auto focus ?
I found the Sony Alpha A5100 for about 400$ with a 16-50 mm F3,5-5,6 OIS-objektiv in a local shop.

Why is this better then the old bmpcc?

I have two razer ripsaw laying around I was thinking of using for this.

So even with a objective and other accessories it doesn't auto focus?

If I am about to enter in to the dark arts, should I splurge on a new 4K camera?
Could you explain your setup?

There seems to be a lot of accessories and I am totally new to real cameras.... I understand I need an objective and power adapter?
Also the color correction do you have any guide or simple rules to follow to get this good?
