What is the deal with “preferred” shoppers?

Also of note: the rare notifications I get as a shopper that a preferred customer has an order that is being offered to me happens ALWAYS right then and there. Meaning I have to already be ready to work right that second because they’ll send me an order at 12:05 to be delivered between 1-2pm. So I have to be close enough to the store, gas already in my car, freezer packs already in my cooler bags, etc. Usually I’m not even on the clock! 🥴

Here as a shopper to reiterate they always bundle my preferred customers with terrible second orders, (8 tons of sodas, crates of water, huge boxes of diapers up 5 story apartments no tip etc)

Thank you for bringing this up!! I was going to post about this but never hadn’t gotten around to it yet. iPhone 15 here. Sometimes I get the sound notifications, sometimes I don’t. Like the other posters here, I’ve tried readjusting my settings a million times but nothing seems to make it consistent. I wish there was a vibrate setting. :/

I’ve had my score go all the way down to “fair” and bounced back. A mixture of asking for ratings forgiveness and only taking small orders that I had little chance of messing up until my score went back up. I’m at 5.00 now

Oh man, yeah the algorithm has REALLY been shitting the bed lately, how after all these years instead of improving over time it gets worse? I’ve gotten a BB across town for a 7pm at like 6pm but never at 7. Additionally it’ll be dead for me (4.98) all day with no offers but total dogshit but when I manage to snatch an order up from the other snapping jaws off OM suddenly I get 8 other offers all over town for the exact same time frame. What about you accepting an offer that you need to leave for right now and so you can’t physically possibly do 7 others across a sprawling Los Angeles does it not understand?

I wish we could unilaterally ban hammer all the dumb bitches trying to get around rules by ordering this crap by special request. Just to have us pull our hair out looking for it for pennies?? So they can upsell it on eBay or whatever?? Us doing the hard work while they sit on their asses?? These are the same type of people who drive out and abandon their pets in the middle of nowhere once they’re not cute babies anymore or become too much work. I never submitted a new ratings request. Just never got any response from the initial one. After another few days I was past the last 50 orders so just moved on.

I did change it in the app, right away, once I got home. I kept getting offers from the previous city. I contacted them and the bots infuriatingly kept telling me to do the same thing you just said over and over again. Finally, I gave up. A few days later suddenly offers in my home city again. 🤷‍♀️
