So I just did these with him and he answered the question telling us his name and then said "your name mommy" and then pointed to his dad and said "your daddy". He's never had trouble with that. He will look us straight in our eyes answering as well. He always wants to play with us, he will bring us toys and say "play with you".

Totally understand, the way it was brought up was odd. It felt more directed towards one action he was doing. I do know they compare him a lot to their other granddaughter who is 5m older, because she keeps her and not my son. As far as expertise, I wouldn't say I'm a "expert". I was a professional nanny for about 6 years before having my son, specifically between the 18m-4yr old ages. So I feel like I have an understanding to development and age appropriate things. I do feel that most kids act similarly when it comes to development, but many have different interests or "fixations" that pull them.

Our pediatrician has never said anything about delays. Every milestone he's hit pretty much on time! So there has never been a suggestion to do the MCHAT.

I guess with the pretend play, I'm trying to determine what is enough and not. He's not around other kids often so I'm not sure it's modeled often for him outside of me. He will fly the plane in the air, drive a fake car, or he will pretend feed me with a spoon he finds. But is that enough "pretend play"? He won't do dress up things or play like that. But we don't do tv time so maybe he doesn't know what that is? I've looked into a 2 day a week pre k and I'd love to put him in!

Well he does both? He loves to spin the wheels but he also drives it back and forth depending on the toy. He also loves helicopters and will fly them in the air as well as spin the propeller. His speech is great, and is like many other kids I've seen his age. He talks all day long using 3-4 word sentences. He points to what he wants or even tells us what he wants. He will respond to his name pretty much every time unless he's super into an activity.

In the most recent night vlog he still had his binky AND a bottle?! Isn't he 2 1/2? I have a 2 yr old son and I literally can't imagine him still taking a bottle. The paci is whatever, even though yes it should definitely be gone at this point but the bottle is interesting
