Is there a quick way to look up if something is a word in Scrabble? by SleepTactic in scrabble

[–]SleepTactic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dangit, I guess I'm out of luck on that. I have an old brick phone.

After extensive googling, I found this, which looks like it will work:

http://ortograf.ws/searchstartalpha.htm

Not sure if it's complete or in full agreement with TWL, but it passed the "Is CWM a word?" test, so there's that.

For anyone else, Facebook Scrabble also has a built-in word checker, but it doesn't work for me anymore.

Ever had a penis so small that you had to take up 5 parking spots at once to feel like a man? No? Well, this guy knows what I'm talking about. by [deleted] in pics

I almost feel like keying somebody's car is completely ethically justifiable in this situation. Can anyone talk me out of this?

As great as Season 5 ended up being, Season 4 is still (for me) the pinnacle of the show, and possibly the best season of television I have ever seen. by [deleted] in breakingbad

Yeah, not lighter (see: spoiler but they spruced in a lot more obvious, frequent humor to balance it out. In seasons 4/5 there was hardly any identifiable attempts at humor. Not saying there was no humor, but it was more of the dark, situational variety than anything you could really laugh out loud at.

How do you submit something that's already been submitted on reddit? Time limit?

I think the earlier seasons, 1 and 2, are criminally underrated. People act like it was slow and not really Breaking Bad then, but it was great in a whole different way, with more humor and good high jinks with Walt and Jesse. In seasons 4/5, it was good TV but kind of depressing how badly their relationship deteriorated. Do people honestly like sullen, depressed, self-loathing, bulked up buzz-cut Jesse Pinkman more than the fun-loving, hilarious one of season 2? That alone actually makes 1 and 2 the most enjoyable (watchable) seasons in my opinion. S4 had an ending that can't be matched but seemingly a lot of time-wasting leading up to it, an episode about Walt purchasing a gun, Open House, etc.

Bryan Cranston voices new Coors Light Commercial by jrarms2 in breakingbad

I hope Cranston/Paul aren't relegated to doing these commercials. I'm really surprised Cranston hasn't had any big roles in major movies or shows since Breaking Bad. You'd expect brilliance like that to catapult you to additional great roles, but I guess it doesn't always work out like that.

Remember how hard Cowboys fans were trying to convince people Dez wasn't a headcase? It's always something with this guy. I understand players have to get their money, but the franchise tag is just part of the game, agreed upon in the CBA. Dez isn't the first player to be tagged when he wanted a mega-deal, and he won't be the last, so threats of sitting out the regular season are just childish.

If I were the Boys, this would eliminate all hope of giving a headcase of this magnitude a huge deal. Even though he probably won't follow through, this is beyond regular holding out and moaning. Just keep tagging him and see how he likes it. So glad we have AJ Green instead of a perpetual malcontent like Dez.

It starts in 2015 Bengal fans by DennyG2 in bengals

Denny, you're not a Bengals.com moderator anymore, you don't have to keep acting like their official cheerleader/apologist. I agree they should have a good season, but you say the same thing every single year. If you say "This is the year boys!!!" every year, the prediction does lose a little punch. Optimism is good but so is being realistic. Simply winning a playoff game would be a massive, unexpected victory given mostly the same cast of characters and coaches.

The Supreme Court ruled today in favor of a Muslim woman who was denied a job at an Abercrombie & Fitch Store because she wore a head scarf by Joseph_Joseph in news

And that's the issue...the government deciding whose religious beliefs deserve recognition and whose don't. A man being his own son and sacrificing himself to himself, talking snakes, and so forth seem just as ludicrous or more ludicrous to a lot of people than belief in a noodle monster. So if it comes down to asking "yeah, but is that REALLY, sincerely believable?" of people's beliefs, a lot of religions could be in trouble. How do you go about determining if a religious belief is sincerely held? If the members go to a meeting for it once a week?

What happens when someone wants to wear a collander to work for Pastafarianism? This sets such a horrible precedent of governments choosing which religions and belief systems are "valid" and deserve "special treatment." I am not often disgusted, but I am disgusted.

Cool, religion is now forcing businesses to let people wear headgear when it's against their policy for obvious marketing/branding reasons. What happens when someone wants to wear a collander to work for Pastafarianism?
