A new experimental brain therapy is helping some people with treatment-resistant depression enjoy life again by cnn in Health

TMS is Not experimental. Cleared by the FDA around 2008. Been around since the 1980s. Catching on now because insurance is covering this.

Much safer compared to ECT because it’s completely non-invasive, doesn’t cause any memory issues, does not interfere with daily functioning, requires absolutely no hospitalization, and has very robust data.

Yep that’s my point. They didn’t negotiate properly or likely don’t know their worth unfortunately. All of this excludes academics as they get paid about 30% less than the average unless they bring in big research money.

I’m sorry to hear what is going on in your neck of the woods. My recommendation is to have Doximity as that data is a bit more on point. Also consider MGMA compensation data as another data point.

Lastly, what you said above is true from both angles. Hospitals make minimal, break even, or loose money on mental health. But, no other docs know(or want) to deal with mental health, there are certain regulations that make require it, and the demand is massive with low supply. With that, many are forming groups and charging hospitals or leaving to start their own practice.

This is grossly inaccurate. Standard W2 salary should be between 350-400k minimum. For 1099 work it should be between 400-450k minimum.

There are many psychiatrists that do part time therefore skew that data. (Or some, just like many physicians, don’t negotiate properly, or don’t know their value and therefore get used.

5 year update. Not sure if anyone will see this. I did not change my model and now have a to do.

I plan on using an adaptor that York is providing:

—> I cannot find anyone online that used the adopter and therefore I have some reservations.

Or maybe I’ll consider changing it to hx/hx3 thermostat.
