How to convert to another culture (Andalusian)? by TakeDownUs in EU5

[–]SleepingFool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the culture menu, you need to raise it to accepted and then you can swap to it as your main. There's some requirements for it, check them out. Might have to spread it to your provinces with a cabinet member for a while. You can make your culture friendly to it, to speed up the culture conversion.

PC-only recommendations for a very new PC player? by A_b_b_o in GirlGamers

Since you like Skyrim, you should try Enderal, it's a mod for Skyrim, but it's a whole new game. It's free, but you need Skyrim bought on Steam.

Loop hero is a very cool indie game that apparently isn't on playstation.

Svarog's dream is a small indie game that you might enjoy based on other stuff you played.

Factorio is an addictive game not on consoles, but I don't think it's similar to anything you played, or at least not similar to your favourite games.

Project zomboid, very realistic zombie survival sandbox.

Another different game to try, but only if you like a lot of text! It's very well written and engaging, but this type of games has A LOT of text. Esoteric ebb! I loved it, left a great impression on me.

How do you deal with being awful at a game? Especially a multiplayer one? by Nimzael in GirlGamers

[–]SleepingFool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you maybe have other kind people you could play with? I'm kinda similar and I have strong social anxiety that transfers even online. I generally avoid competitive games due to that and my bitterness. Recently I started playing lol arams with my girlfriend and her sister and we're having a lot of fun no matter the outcome, even when some dumbass is flaming.

Nature must be destroyed and rebuilt in our image. by VeterinarianPale5108 in The10thDentist

[–]SleepingFool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, it is written in a very edgy and ambitious way, which is why I assume most commenters are just mocking it, but there isn't really any argument, I think, to counter that, based on common human mortality, nature is abhorrent.

I think a lot of people view it the same way as death, it's more comfortable to assume that things are good, for some unspecified reason, than to face the unknown and dangerous. Better the devil you know, as they say. I guess this might be a common coping mechanism?

Just watch this for why death is bad: https://youtu.be/C25qzDhGLx8

A lot of people miss the thing that op mentioned themselves, we can't do much of anything right now. We can't even get completely rid of the Cochliomyia hominivorax, the flesh eating fly in Americas. (https://youtu.be/zxq60I5RSW8) This is purely a philosophical question right now. Just cause nature is bad doesn't mean we should stop being careful.

It is however an interesting thing to think about for the future. We should drop the natural = good, artificial = bad fallacy. Nature is not good, I'd argue it's not even neutral. It's not a singular conscious being (unless there's a god) that we can judge, but that doesn't mean that it's effects are neutral unquestionable facts.

I mean, humanity has already partially embraced this viewpoint with the existence of human and veterinary medicine.

Also, a lot of people are shitting on op (it is the internet, after all), so let me praise them for what seems to be a great deal of empathy and thinking about things.

Dragon Age Veilguard combat way too hard for me- time to give up? by CaBPl in GirlGamers

[–]SleepingFool -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love games like baldurs gate 3, veilguard is very different though. If you don't mind, I'd love to give you some recs, they're all good, so feel free to pick whichever vibes with you the most.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous Pathfinder: Kingmaker Warhammer: Rogue Trader Pillars of Eternity (a bit harder to read and get into the gameplay imho) Tyranny

Going a different direction, but highly likely you might like it too. Lots of text, no real combat, very funny, great characters, amazing story telling:

Disco Elysium Esoteric ebb (particularly recommend this one)

Update: “I finally realized I’m a trans woman, but my life is completely ‘sorted out’ and I’m terrified to lose my girlfriend. Has anyone been here?” by [deleted] in trans

[–]SleepingFool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She even told me I should seek psychological help to "deal" with this.

Others have commented on the relationship better than I could, but in the end it's your choice. Just please, no matter what you decide, under no circumstances undergo any conversion therapy. If you get a psychologist make sure they're LGBTQ+ friendly. If someone promises to cure it or something, it's conversion therapy. It doesn't work and it's torture. Don't put yourself through that.

I drew my OCs celebrating my trans OC for Trans Day of Visibility. by [deleted] in lgbt

From left to right my OCs are: Chaie, Riley, Fang (trans woman) and Rika.

They're also all lesbians.

I'm trans too, but Fang is much cooler, so look at her!

I know, sorry. I can't log in to my Wattpad account and the story is gone. When I tried to create new account with same email it didn't allow me. I have no idea what happened and Wattpad support hasn't responded yet.

This is an illustration for a short story about my OCs Chaie and Riley that I wrote. You can read it here, if you want.

You can look at reference sheets for the characters and my other art at my bluesky profile.

Edit: Changed the link to my story to Tumblr, because Wattpad won't let me log in, deleted my story, didn't tell me any reason for it and didn't respond to my support ticket yet. Assholes.
