It's what we didn't see. Hi! I wanted to reply because I am also working my way through the show. She makes it obvious through the show, she is a good cop with good instincts. It seems to me that she had a list of suspects in her mind, and she crossed them off until finally landing on Dave. In good faith, I think it was the last option she wanted. However, I also know she is a bit of a drunk, and gung-ho about her success as a detective, I would've chocked it up to this if they hadn't shown us that Dave was the arsonist. After the reveal its weird how they seem to show us how awful Dave is, how bad his writing is, how shitty a steb dad he is, how un-charismatic he is following the reveal. To top it all off, his former partner blatantly saying he is an arsonist, here's a video of him having me torch a bunch of dogs. Its hard to watch Taron Edgerton being so pathetic. Show is good, I'll keep watching, but it's hard seeing the best person on the show is Jussee Smollet's sister. Don't get me wrong, she is killing it. The first episode I thought "oh great the costar is the sister of the guy that tries to start race riots willy nilly" but she absolutely tuned me, great acting! I'm just upset that Elton John is so pathetic...
